Job Title: Welding Technician II Classification: Non-exempt Salary Range: $27.00 - $31.00 per hour Reports To: Production Manager Position Type: Full Time Work Schedule: M-F; 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Work Location: HQ, Kansas City , MO Job Summary: The Welding Technician II performs advanced welding techniques and fabricates high-quality products by cutting, grinding, and welding using MIG and TIG applications. The Welding Technician II aligns with Master’s core values of relentlessly pursuing excellence, operating with high integrity, communicating with a positive attitude, and is innovative and solution oriented. Essential Functions: Reads and interprets blueprints, build sheets, travelers, or other paperwork dictating product characteristics Performs all welding procedures including machine settings, bottles, and necessary fittings Sets up and performs MIG and TIG Welding operations Uses a variety of hand tools including pneumatic tools such as die grinders and cutting wheels, electric grinders, pry bars, chisels, clamps, and others Fabricates products through cutting, grinding, and welding methods Utilizes measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, gauges, and “string checks” to ensure the product built is within quality tolerances Inspects welds for cracks, burn through, and weld spatter Grinds and cleans areas where required Communicates effectively with team members, other departments, and customers Maintains welding machines (tip, liner, changes, etc.) and welding vertical, horizontal, and overhead Follows hazardous waste disposal program and fire prevention procedures Comply with all health and safety programs Maintains a neat and clean work area Competencies: Technical Skills Innovation Teamwork Communication Problem-Solving Skills Supervisory Responsibilities: None Work Environment: Manufacturing Plant Environment: 100% Personal Protective Equipment recommended and/or required on production floor: Safety glasses, or prescription safety glasses that meet ANSI Z 87.1-2020 Hearing Protection that meets ANSI S 12.6-2016 Steel-toed shoes with anti-slip soles that meet ASTM F2413-2018 Safety Sensitive: This position is classified as safety‑sensitive and requires employees to perform duties where impaired performance could pose a significant risk to the health and safety of themselves or others. To ensure a safe and reliable work environment, candidates must successfully complete pre‑employment drug testing and may be subject to ongoing, random, or post‑incident testing in accordance with company policy and applicable state and federal regulations.
