Relocation assistance may be available for new team members joining us in Yellowknife.                  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Your opportunity</u></strong><strong> </strong></p>\n<p>We are looking to add a <strong>Civil Engineer</strong> to fill a new position, who will play a hands-on role in delivering projects, building trusted client relationships, and supporting the continued development of our engineering services in the region. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Based in <strong>Yellowknife</strong>, you will be part of a close-knit team working directly with clients and communities across the <strong>Northwest Territories</strong>, while also supporting projects in <strong>Nunavut and Yukon</strong> as part of Dillon’s broader Northern practice.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>You will also work closely with multidisciplinary teams across Dillon’s offices nationwide, coordinating the right expertise for each project while maintaining a strong local presence. For the right person, this role offers the chance to develop <strong>broad exposure, regional credibility, and a well-rounded Northern career</strong>.</p>\n<p>                         </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong><u>What your day will look like</u></strong></p>\n<p><strong>Project Management </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Technical lead and design on projects related to municipal and/or land development infrastructure including water supply, sewers, roads, site servicing and storm water management</li>\n <li>Contribute technical expertise to functional design, detailed design and construction administration activities of multidisciplinary project teams</li>\n <li>Management of municipal and land development infrastructure projects related to water supply, sewers, roads, site servicing and storm water management</li>\n <li>Regularly interact with project team members including planners, environmental scientists, engineers and technologists</li>\n <li>Regular interaction with clients, agencies, utilities and other project stakeholders</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of municipal servicing standards and provincial regulatory requirements</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Business Development</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Identify and develop new business opportunities</li>\n <li>Lead submissions in response to Requests for Proposals</li>\n <li>Leadership in the maintenance of existing client relationships including preparation of proposals and statement of qualification</li>\n <li>Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Learning & Development</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development</li>\n <li>Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring</li>\n <li>Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong><u>What you will need to succeed</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>A degree in civil engineering</li>\n <li>Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in the Northwest Territories</li>\n <li>10-15 years' professional experience, preferably in the consulting industry</li>\n <li>Proven leadership and business development capabilities</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Experience</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrated success in the leadership of multidisciplinary project teams and business development</li>\n <li>Experienced in the design of various municipal infrastructure including water supply systems, sewage systems, roadways, storm water management works, underground and surface site servicing works, and/or waste management facilities</li>\n <li>Experience with trenchless technologies and applications would be an asset</li>\n <li><p>Experience working on municipal infrastructure projects in Northern Canada or other remote and cold climate environments would be considered an asset</p></li>\n <li><p>Knowledge of permafrost conditions and northern engineering design considerations, including frost heave mitigation, thermal impacts on infrastructure, and construction in remote environments, would be considered an asset</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience coordinating with geotechnical investigations and applying geotechnical recommendations for infrastructure development in permafrost regions would be considered an asset </p></li>\n <li>Experience with stormwater management, wastewater and water distribution calculations and modelling applications would be an asset</li>\n <li>In depth knowledge of contract administration services and requirements, including Master Municipal Construction Documents</li>\n <li>Expert knowledge of municipal servicing standards and environmental approvals requirements</li>\n <li>Demonstrated skills in public and agency consultation</li>\n <li>Strong proficiency in proposal and report writing, presentations, communications, organization and interpersonal skills</li>\n <li>Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are essential </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Why choose Dillon</u></strong></p>\n<p>Dillon is powered by people who are technically proficient, passionate about socially important projects, and motivated to deliver superior, tangible results.
