    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">Position Summary:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Responsible for system operations including calibration, commissioning, inspection, maintenance, and repairs of substation equipment such as transformers, voltage regulators, breakers, protective relays, and other technical equipment. Assist with any technical problems.</p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span>Perform maintenance and inspection on substation equipment by following a time-based maintenance program according to the Cooperative’s Substation Equipment Maintenance Standards Plan, manufacturer recommendations, and NERC compliance.</span></li>\n</ol>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span>Maintain and repair OCRs, transformers, and regulators. Performs tests and repairs as directed.</span></li>\n</ol>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span>Assist in the construction of substations. Assist in the installation of equipment in substations.</span></li>\n</ol>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span>Assist personnel of District Offices with problems relating to technical equipment.</span></li>\n</ol>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span>Read and interpret blueprints and work orders, applying this knowledge in the field.</span></li>\n</ol>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span>Test and inspect substation battery banks and chargers by strap impedance, cell voltage, cell impedance, specific gravity, temperature, charging current, and bank voltage.</span></li>\n</ol>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span>Analyze test results on equipment and recommend practical cost-effective solutions for equipment performance and repair.</span></li>\n</ol>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span>Responsible for compliance with the Cooperative's safety rules, safety policies, and procedures.</span></li>\n</ol>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span>In addition to these responsibilities, may be assigned by the District Operations Supervisor to perform other duties from time to time.</span></li>\n</ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">Education:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span>High school diploma or equivalency is required. Must possess or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.</span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">Experience:</span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span>Must have a working knowledge of REA construction specifications, which include all residential service, commercial services, single-phase, two-phase, and three-phase line construction. Must have a working knowledge of substation maintenance and working with protective relay equipment.</span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">Knowledge:</span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span>Must possess knowledge of theories of voltage regulation, fault current, and coordination of line protection devices in order to perform responsibilities. Must be familiar with the feeds of all transmission lines and distribution substations and the operation of all substations and switching stations.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">Abilities and Skills:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\"> </span></p>\n<ol>\n<li><br><span>Must possess a valid Texas Class A CDL driver's license with good driving record.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Must be able to communicate in English, both in written and oral forms with the general public and co-workers.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Must possess the ability to climb and work from elevated positions in structures and from ladders.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Must be able to lift 75-100 pounds or more, as necessary.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Must have sight to be able to see working conditions from a safety standpoint.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Must have good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to maintain proper safety while performing job duties.</span></li>\n<li><br><span>Must be able to frequently sit, bend, stoop, and squat; occasionally push and/or pull, reach above shoulder level, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, and twist; and be able to walk distances over uneven terrain. </span></li>\n</ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">Working Environment:</span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span>The individual must be willing to work in all adverse and inclement weather conditions.</span></p>",
