We recognize this is a special gift and we are dedicated to helping every DSP to find the client they are meant to help.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">1A0253G</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Location: </span>Gresham, OR, 97030</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Schedule:</span> Thursdays and Fridays from 7AM - 1PM.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Description: </span>An 8-year-old boy who needs assistance with daily routines, safety, and emotional regulation. He needs support with bathroom usage, staying on task, and safely accessing food and toys. During meals, he requires close supervision. He may also need help with toothbrushing, changing clothes, and completing household chores or personal tasks. He is very active and benefits from a caregiver who can match his energy level and engage him in play and activities.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Requirements:</span></p>\n<p>Must be energetic and able to keep up with a highly active child throughout the shift.</p>\n<p>Must be patient, calm, and emotionally steady when supporting challenging behaviors</p>\n<p>Must be able to respond safely to behaviors, including potential self-harm or aggression (parents recommend wearing long sleeves)</p>\n<p>Able to provide close supervision during meals, bathroom use, and when the client is accessing food or toys</p>\n<p>Willing to assist with daily living skills, including toothbrushing, changing clothes, and completing chores</p>\n<p>Able to create a safe, structured, and supportive environment</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span><br>-Support and encourage the client during in‑home ABA sessions, helping maintain engagement.</p>\n<p>-Assist with light household tasks, such as helping him clean up after dinner.</p>\n<p>-Participate in activities including reading, writing, movement games, and other interests he enjoys.<br>-Provide occasional community access while ensuring safety and positive experiences.</p>\n<p>-Offer consistent behavior support in coordination with existing supports already in place.</p>\n<p>-Use clear, direct communication and reinforce appropriate boundaries to support structure, safety, and successful interactions.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span><br>-Experience with ABA, behavior management, or working with children with developmental disabilities is preferred.<br>-A patient, interactive, relationship‑focused approach.<br>-Strong communication skills and the ability to establish and uphold healthy boundaries.<br>-Someone who is active, engaged, and comfortable supporting a child with high energy</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Direct Support Professional (DSP) / In Home Care Giver Responsibilities and Duties:</span></p>\n<p>This role involves caring for a client on an individual basis in their home environment as well as taking them out into the community to learn skills and socialize. This role varies depending on the client but can involve teaching skills of independent living such as self-care, behavior management, budgeting, cooking, shopping and cleaning. Family Relief Resources is not a physical facility -100% of activities happen in the community or a client’s home.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>The day-to-day duties of the DSP role requires:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Smart Phone</em><br>- The state requires all client visits to be tracked with GPS location verification at clock in/out. You will need a smart phone to access the timekeeping application once you arrive at the client’s location.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Driving</em><br>- Have a valid license and car with current insurance. Some clients will need transportation.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Documenting</em><br>- Must create and enter specific progress notes after each shift. Also, a progress report is due once per quarter.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Scheduling</em><br>- Each DSP has a set schedule and must be able to maintain this with clients.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Reliability</em><br>- Because Family Relief Resources is not a facility, we need reliable employees who can work independently, show up for their shifts, and be excellent communicators with their client’s families and with our agency.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Patient, Kind, and Positive</em><br>- Helping those with disabilities requires a person who can be patient in all situations, show kindness, and have a positive attitude toward the client and other members of the client’s family even in challenging situations.</li>\n<li><em>Flexibility</em><br>- Being able to adjust to different types of personalities and disabilities from day to day.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Minimum Job Requirements:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>18 years or older</li>\n<li>Pass a Criminal History Check.</li>\n<li>Work a minimum of 15 hours per month.<br></li>\n<li>CPR and First Aid Certificate (within 3 months of hire)</li>\n<li>State required online training courses (pre-hire and within 3 months of hire)</li>\n<li>Continuing Education (24 hours per year)</li>\n<li>Basic knowledge of technology, including the ability to use a smartphone for timekeeping, submitting daily and quarterly shift reports, communication with office and client family, and additional requirements as needed.</li>\n<li>Has direct experience working with children and/or adults with varying levels of support needs (Including experience with intellectual and/or behavioral disabilities).\n<ul>\n<li>\n<ul>\n<li>Understand requirements of maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding individual information.</li>\n<li>Be literate and capable of understanding written and oral orders.</li>\n<li>Be able to communicate with individuals, health care providers, case managers, and appropriate others.</li>\n<li>Be able to respond to emergency situations when services are being delivered.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Direct Support Professional / In Home Care Giver Benefits Include:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Part-time or Full-time work opportunities</li>\n<li>Holiday pay (time and a half)</li>\n<li>Medical, Vision and Dental Insurance (30+ hours per week)</li>\n<li>Paid vacation (30+ hours per week, 6 months after hire)</li>\n<li>401k with employer match (30+ hours per week, 1 year after hire)</li>\n<li>Paid sick days</li>\n<li>Paid continuing education opportunities</li>\n<li>Free gym membership</li>\n</ul>",
