    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p>POSITION SUMMARY<br><br>DEFINITION<br><br>Under general direction of the Director of Radiology /Manager, performs imaging procedures to aid physician in diagnosis and treatments. Performs other related work as assigned/required.<br><br><br>CLASS CHARACTERISTICS<br><br>Employees within this class perform the full range of radiographic examinations and Computerized Tomography (CT) including the ability to work independently, exercise judgment, and take initiative to complete a specific assignment.<br><br><br>POSITION QUALIFICATIONS<br><br>The education and experience that provides the required knowledge to operate as a Computerized Tomography (CT) Technologist is as listed:<br><br>Education<br><br>Completion of an ACR or ARRT recognized accredited program in Radiology Technology/Graduate of a JCERT hospital-based radiology technology program is required; Associate&rsquo;s degree in Radiology Technology is desired.<br><br>Experience<br><br>A minimum of one year of experience in performing technical work which must have included as primary responsibility: radiographic examinations, and following: computerized tomography (CT).<br><br>Licensure/Certification<br><br>Possession of valid California CRT license, Fluoroscopy Certification<br>Current BLS through AHA<br>ARRT required<br>Specialized training in CT<br>Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS) requires the following criteria for Licensure/Certification as a requirement to operate a CT scanner:<br>September 1, 2016 - a technologist must possess both an ARRT (RT) and CRT license.<br>January 1, 2018 &ndash; a technologist in addition to both ARRT (RT) and CRT licensure must be certified as a Computerized Tomography Technologist (CT) by the ARRT.<br><br><br>KNOWLEDGE &amp; ABILITIES<br><br>Knowledge of:<br><br>Hospital established policies quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control policies and procedures.<br><br>The more common radiology equipment and instruments used in a hospital setting, basic radiography and Computerized Tomography (CT).<br><br>&nbsp; &nbsp; Anatomy and Physiology.<br><br>&nbsp; &nbsp; Processing and evaluating quality images.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<br>Ability to:<br><br>Operate equipment used in Radiology, and Computerized Tomography (CT).<br><br>Understand, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, standards, and procedures.<br><br>Learn quickly the specific operations of a Radiology Department.<br><br>Keep abreast of developments in the field of expertise.<br><br>Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.<br><br>Prepare and maintain records and reports. (Written and electronic).<br><br>Work effectively under stress and in emergency situations.<br><br>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, physicians and fellow employees.<br><br>Manage emergency or crisis situations; requires judgment/action which could result in undesirable patient outcomes.<br><br>AGE SPECIFIC COMPETENCY<br><br>Maintains, demonstrates and is assessed on the knowledge and skills necessary to provide for physical, psychosocial and cultural needs appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.</p></div>\n",
