Description The work performed includes about 2/3 time for Technical Director and 1/3 time for Production Manager including but not limited to: Supporting two theater productions and one dance concert each semester Supporting various classroom lab/projects including THEA Capstone, PVDT Capstone, design classes, directing class, etc. Coordinating with college partners in Athletics, Admissions, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, etc. for non-departmental events in KSCOPE spaces shared by the Theater and Dance Department and PVDT program Technical planning and construction of scenic designs Pricing and coordinating purchases and rentals for all areas of each production Supervising, supporting, and evaluating Performing Arts Engineer’s execution of duties Attending each tech, dress rehearsal, and strike Organizing and managing the two stage houses, shop area, and scenic/prop/costume stock inventories in KSCOPE Upholding safety standards and maintaining inventory lists Recruiting, training, and supervising student workers for construction, run crews, stage management, and board operation Assisting Department in planning for season selection and creating production calendars Working with producing faculty and Department chair to generate and manage individual production budgets and schedules as well as budgets and schedules for the student workers of the Technical Director/Production Manager and Performing Arts Engineer Supervising and managing hours and availability of Performing Arts Engineer to assist on non-Theater, Dance, and PVDT events in the KSCOPE and across campus Working with producers to generate personnel agreements and acting as liaison between all personnel for each production Supporting PVDT classes and programming Coordinating facility and equipment maintenance schedule with appropriate college partners and scheduling outside maintenance companies for specified stage equipment Collaborating with Art staff to include studio shop tools with KSCOPE shop tools in the maintenance schedule to reduce cost by limiting maintenance companies site time and travel expenses Collaborating and assisting with institutionally-focused analyses, studies, and reports Assisting faculty in overseeing the productions of student clubs advised by faculty in the department As APEX programming develops, aiding, assisting, participating and/or providing workshops related to the field of Design and Technology Working with the Event Technology Supervisor to identify and train students to help with events outside of the KSCOPE (contingent on work-study funding for event technicians) Working with the Event Technology Supervisor and the Performing Arts Engineer to identify and schedule additional equipment needs for events across campus when applicable Collaborating with the Senior Director of Information Technology and Risk Management on spaces across campus to implement more event-friendly equipment Serving on campus committees that are related to the specific skills of the TD/PM Collaborating with the Office of Protocol on specific events and rentals in the KSCOPE With the Performing Arts Engineer, providing additional support in the KSCOPE on rentals as needed for set up and the duration events Supporting revenue generating rentals and in house programming in KSCOPE (academic year and summer) Supporting Theater, Dance, & PVDT summer programming as applicable Ensuring proper, safe, and appropriate use of the KSCOPE spaces used by campus partners and outside renters Additional Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Teaching responsibilities include Stagecraft (2cr.) and 2 sections of Production Practicum (1cr. each;
