    "description": "<h2>Job Description</h2>\n<p>Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a<strong> Certified Perfusionist </strong>supporting the Malcom Randall Department of <strong>Veterans Affairs Hospital</strong> in Gainesville Florida.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Perfusionist will provide support with procedures and patients that are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) requiring balloon pump/Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) support.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Job Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Education Program School of Perfusion Technology </li>\n <li>Board certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion</li>\n <li>BLS Certified</li>\n <li>Minimum of <strong>3 years</strong> of experience </li>\n <li>Demonstrate evidence of meeting continuing education requirements and shall have performed a minimum of 1000 clinical cases. Experience shall be demonstrated in the following areas: Open heart surgery, autotransfusion, heart lung machine, membrane oxygenation, left/right heart bypass, intra-aortic balloon pumping and centrifugal ventricular assist device</li>\n <li> </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Job Description:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist the Cardio-Thoracic service with by-pass surgical cases and valve replacement of various types. </li>\n <li>Responsible for preparation, and operation of the heart and lung machines/pumps in conjunction with maintaining a sterile environment for procedures maintaining blood volume in the patients preventing shock or air embolus. </li>\n <li>Assemble supplies and equipment in preparation to accept patients on extra corporeal circulation in cases of premature cardiac arrest or failure. </li>\n <li>Other services include preparation, maintenance and operation of VA owned equipment to include the heart lung machine, auto transfusion pump, intra-aortic balloon pump and centrifugal ventricular assist device</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>At Spectrum, we utilize over thirty-five years of experience providing optimal solutions for federal agencies that are both innovative and cost-effective.
