The Aerospace Machinist will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for [e.g. operating and maintaining or supporting] the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>Open to internal candidates only.</em></strong>  The selected candidate for this requisition must be available to work any shift and shift determination will be made based on the priority of work at the time the selected candidate is cleared to report to work.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p>\n<p>The successful candidate will under general supervision perform technical, mechanical, electrical, and manual work in the testing, operating, and/or assembly and shop areas of an engineering test facility.  </p>\n<p><strong>Supplementary Functions:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Participation in functional specific safety training </li>\n <li>Must be able to work in a team atmosphere</li>\n <li>Must put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation</li>\n <li>Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Job Duties:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform regular inspections and diagnose faults in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems of manual and CNC lathes and mills</li>\n <li>Repair and Maintenance experience\n  <ul>\n   <li>Execute timely repairs and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime</li>\n   <li>Replace worn or defective parts such as belts, bearings and/or motors</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Troubleshoot and repair CNC components, including controllers, servos, and drives\n  <ul>\n   <li>Ability to read and interpret G-Code and M-Code to diagnose operational issues</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Maintain and repair manual lathes and mills, ensuring accuracy and performance</li>\n <li>Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed and manage the inventory of spare parts</li>\n <li>Prepares test facility equipment for operations</li>\n <li>Prepares test articles for testing, install test articles, and checks installations</li>\n <li>Troubleshoots equipment, test articles, and installations in case of malfunctions</li>\n <li>Operates plant and test equipment during tests</li>\n <li>Assists in test and operates test articles such as controls for engines and rockets</li>\n <li>Removes test articles after tests</li>\n <li>Installs and maintains facility systems</li>\n <li>Accomplishes maintenance and servicing work required to place and keep test facility equipment in operation</li>\n <li>Uses a wide variety of hand and machine tools, powered equipment, measuring and testing equipment</li>\n <li>Instructs less experienced lower-lever grade craftsman</li>\n <li>It is a condition of employment to wear company issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with supervisory direction and Company Policy</li>\n <li>Perform other work as required</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Basic Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Educational Equivalent: Must possess High School Diploma or equivalent</li>\n <li>Specific Knowledge or Experience: Four years of machinist experience in the working section of an aeronautical test facility operation. Progressive experience as an outside machinist, machinist, millwright, aircraft mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic may be substituted for the required experience.  </li>\n <li>Ability to skillfully operate and work with the wide variety of hand and machine tools associated with trade</li>\n <li>Ability to read and work from blueprints, diagrams, and sketches</li>\n <li>Licenses/Certifications: Valid State Driver’s License</li>\n <li>Communication Skills: Must be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to understand, give and take directions</li>\n <li>Current United States Citizenship required</li>\n <li>Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and the AEDC local area network</li>\n <li>Current U. S.
