    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p data-pasted=\"true\" style=\"text-align: center;\">Pittsburgh Zoo &amp; Aquarium</p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><br></p><p data-pasted=\"true\">Position Title: Equipment Repair Specialist</p><p>Department: Maintenance</p><p>Position Status: Full-time, Hourly &ndash; Collective Bargaining Unit</p><p>Responsibilities/ Duties:</p><p>&bull; Repairs, services and performs routine preventive maintenance and diagnostic tests on various types of equipment (e.g., feeders, mobile and stationary compressors, conveyers, crusher, Cushman scooters, exhaust fans, filter controls, generators, meters, power saws, Zoo Mobile, small engines including diesel engines, , various power machines, hydraulic systems, etc.)</p><p>&bull; Inspects all mechanical equipment, engines, etc. and replaces appropriate parts.</p><p>&bull; Tests mobile and stationary equipment to assess mechanical problems and to ensure proper repairs as required. Prepares parts orders for purchases as requested or required.</p><p>&bull; Keeps accurate records on maintenance equipment.</p><p>&bull; May assist in the unloading of materials (e.g. liquid asphalt, mineral filter, etc.).</p><p>&bull; May operate appropriate equipment (e.g. cutting torch, hoisting cranes, etc.) as requested or required.</p><p>&bull; May drive truck of less than one ton in daily routine and may drive trucks (less than 26,001 pounds) as assigned.</p><p>Other Functions:</p><p>&bull; Performs activities and functions of related lower-level personnel as assigned or required.</p><p>&bull; Performs other related duties as required.</p><p>Performance Factors:</p><p>1. Attendance and Dependability: The employee can be depended on to report to work at the scheduled time and is seldom absent from work. Employee can be depended upon to complete work in a timely, accurate and thorough manner and is conscientious about assignments.</p><p>2. Communication and Contact: The employee communicates effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Zoological Society.</p><p>3. Relationships with Others: The employee works effectively and relates well with others including superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Zoological Society. Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.</p><p>4. Provides excellent customer service in the areas of guest relations and park beautification:</p><p>&bull;Answers visitor inquiries or finds someone who can.</p><p>&bull; Is knowledgeable of location of exhibits, restrooms, concessions, rentals, etc.</p><p>&bull; Disposes of litter and waste throughout the park and zoo facilities.</p><p>Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills:</p><p>A minimum of five years previous experience required; must have considerable knowledge of the procedures and techniques in the repair and servicing of various types of equipment, the mechanical operation of various types of equipment and engines, ability to accurately use various diagnostic tools and instruments related to the work, ability to maintain and properly perform minor to major repairs on equipment and engines.</p><p>Physical Requirements:</p><p>Position is physically demanding and works primarily outdoors with exposure to inclement weather conditions; requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.</p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><br></p></div>\n",
