Come grow your career with us and make a meaningful impact every day.</p>\n<p>St. Lucie Eye is affiliated with EyeSouth Partners' premier network of medical and surgical specialty eye care services.</p>\n<h2>Position Summary</h2>\n<p>The Optician must be able to work with our diverse base of customers (i.e. pediatric, adolescent, and adult) by delivering quality optical care and outstanding and friendly customer service establishing customer loyalty. The Optician must be able to assist patients with eyeglasses and contact lens ordering and fittings. The Optician must also possess strong sales skills by demonstrating a high level of knowledge about our products and determining our patient's need for eyewear to recommend specific accessories and or enhancement for glasses.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm; Saturday 9:00am - 3:00pm.  Day shift  and will only work every 3rd Saturday.</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>• Communicate with physician regarding questions or concerns about prescriptions and other eye-related issues• Measure clients' bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers of eyes, using measuring devices• Assist clients in selecting frames according to style and color, and ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions• Recommend specific lenses, lens coating, and frames to suit client needs• Verify that finished lenses are ground to specifications• Creating work orders for lab technicians to ensure delivery of the proper lenses• Heat, shape, or bend plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit clients, using pliers and hands• Repairing broken/damaged frames• Educating clients on proper wear and care of eyeglasses• Determine clients' current lens prescriptions, when necessary, using lensometers or lens analyzers and clients' eyeglasses• Keeping track of orders, prescriptions, and inventory• Arrange and maintain displays of optical merchandise• Attend training workshops/meetings as scheduled• Interpretation of prescriptions written by ophthalmologists and optometrists</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>• Licensed Optician</strong> </p>\n<p>• High School Diploma or Ged required • Minimum 5 years eyecare experience• Minimum Associates or equivalent and on-the-job training or post-secondary education• Strong computer knowledge and skills with a minimum typing speed of 30 AW PM Able to navigate multiple system applications• Ability to effectively communicate• Professionalism• Multi-tasking• Time Management• Organizational Skills• Attention to Detail • Strong computer knowledge and skills with a minimum typing speed of 30 AW PM.• Able to navigate multiple system applications.Preferred Skills: • Prior retail sales or work in the healthcare industry (preferred)</p>\n<h2>Company Benefits</h2>\n<p>We offer a competitive benefits package to our employees:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Medical</li>\n <li>Dental</li>\n <li>Vision</li>\n <li>401k w/ Match</li>\n <li>HSA/FSA</li>\n <li>Telemedicine</li>\n <li>Generous PTO Package</li>\n</ul>\n<p>We also offer the following benefits for FREE:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Employee Discounts and Perks</li>\n <li>Employee Assistance Program</li>\n <li>Group Life/AD&D </li>\n <li>Short Term Disability Insurance </li>\n <li>Long Term Disability Insurance </li>\n</ul>\n<p>EyeSouth Partners is an equal opportunity employer.
