The Banquet Bartender will also ensure that he/she will adhere to the &ldquo;pursuit of excellence&rdquo; standards that the word &ldquo;The Edgewater&rdquo; is synonymous for.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p>Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:</p><ul><li>Arrive at scheduled start time in appropriate uniform and ready to work.</li><li>Report to Banquet Captain before starting and ending shifts.</li><li>Read and understand all particulars of Banquet Event Orders, including start time and beverage requirements.</li><li>Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar for each scheduled event/function, including requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet.</li><li>Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables for each event/function to ensure product quality.</li><li>Polish all glassware and responsible for sanitation in and around the bar area.</li><li>Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks. Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.</li><li>Inputs orders into the point of sale and creates a check for each guest and personnel guests, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served.</li><li>Expediently communicate any challenges, guest complaints or requests to the Banquet Captain.</li><li>Check identification of guests ensuring alcohol is being served only to those guests of legal drinking age.</li><li>After function, remove inventory and all beverage equipment to proper storage.</li><li>Retrieve and store bar glassware to proper storage.</li><li>Perform other related duties that may be assigned by Banquet Captain/supervisor/manager.&nbsp;</li><li>Must adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to insure all laws are being followed.</li><li>Perform other related duties that may be assigned by Banquet Captain/supervisor/manager.&nbsp;</li></ul><p>Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Prior bartending experience, preferably in a high-volume banquet or hotel environment.</li><li>Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers and management.</li><li>Strong customer service skills and the ability to resolve customer issues or complaints.</li><li>Must be 21 years old</li><li>Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and public holidays.</li><li>Must be able to perform multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently.</li><li>Must have excellent working knowledge of liquors, beers and wine.</li><li>Have ability to obtain any government required license or certificate.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to lift, push, pull a minimum of 50lbs.</li><li>Ability to use moderately complex computer software.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Conditions</strong></p><p>This position operates in a full-service, professional restaurant environment. Bartenders are required to use standard restaurant equipment such as point-of-sale computers, cash registers, commercial glassware and plate ware cleaning systems, etc. &nbsp;are required to work in our kitchen areas as well when receiving food orders and returning dishware. This position requires evening/weekend work.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Physical requirements</strong></p><p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.</p><p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This position is very active and is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms, occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
