For more information, visit ClaiborneMedicalCenter.com.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p>\n<p>Drives and operates ambulances to transport seriously ill or injured people from their homes or accident sites to hospitals. Transfers non-emergency and elderly patients from one location to another and may assist the EMTs /Paramedics with moving patients on stretchers.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li> Safely drives an ambulance to transport patients to hospital or other locations.</li>\n <li> Assists in loading patients onto the stretcher and into the ambulance.</li>\n <li> Removes and replaces soiled linens and equipment to maintain sanitary conditions. Replaces supplies and disposable items on ambulances.</li>\n <li> Inspects assigned ambulance before each shift, to ensure driving readiness, and reports any needed repairs.</li>\n <li> Checks and maintains medical supplies inventory levels before each shift ensuring the ambulance is well-stocked.</li>\n <li> Maintains required driving logs and daily run tickets with necessary billing and tracking information such as patient’s name, address, travel times, mileage, and services performed.</li>\n <li> Reports facts regarding any incidents to administrative personnel and law enforcement, when necessary.</li>\n <li> Local travel required.</li>\n <li> Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.</li>\n <li> Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><em> </em><strong>Minimum Education:</strong>            </p>\n<p>None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a HS diploma or GED.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Experience:</strong>          </p>\n<p>Minimum of two (2) years of driving experience.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Licensure Requirement:</strong>       </p>\n<p>Must complete a state-approved EMT training program, pass EMT certification exam, and receive EMT license from the State of Tennessee within one (1) year of hire. Employee must have a valid driver’s license. Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at the date of hire and throughout employment tenure.</p>",
