    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong><u>POSITION SUMMARY</u></strong><strong>:</strong></p><p>This position is responsible for maintaining all wastewater treatment and pump station equipment at the City of Reading facilities.</p><p><strong>Typical duties may include but are not limited to:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li>Perform all necessary maintenance tasks to maintain compliance with all Clean Water Act/Clean Stream Law requirements, NPDES Permit parameters, and all other applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and manufacturers&rsquo; recommendations.</li><li>Assist with all corrective tasks that arise.</li><li>Communicate any disruptions of treatment units due to maintenance tasks to the Operations staff or others as appropriate.</li><li>Perform on-call duties including carrying the phone and responding to call-ins and address problems, emergencies, and/or breakdowns as assigned.&nbsp;</li><li>Interact frequently with employees and contractors in work area and interact occasionally with employees in other departments throughout the City of Reading.</li><li>Work independently or in groups as assigned.</li><li>Perform routine maintenance checks on wastewater facilities, machinery, and equipment.</li><li>Work with, and occasionally direct, Electricians, Maintenance Worker III, or Maintenance Worker II (Elec / Mech) on jobs.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:.5in;\"><br></p><p><strong><u>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong><strong>:</strong></p><p><strong><em>Educational Requirements/Experience</em></strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li>High School diploma or GED.</li><li>Trade School education in Mechanical. Electrical, Welding, Plumbing, or machine shop application is preferred.</li><li>Must complete and pass (70% or better score) five (5) of ten (10) TPC Basic Mechanical Course Books within six (6) months and all ten (10) of the TPC Basic Mechanical Course Books within twelve (12) months.</li><li>Obtain the appropriate PA DEP operator&rsquo;s certification within two (2) years&nbsp;</li><li>PA Class B commercial driver&rsquo;s license preferred.</li><li>One (1) year of industrial maintenance experience required.</li><li>Must be able to demonstrate a knowledge of the modern maintenance and repair practices, principles, and techniques used in wastewater treatment plant and pumping stations operations.</li><li>Must be able to demonstrate a knowledge of the functions and lubrication requirements of machinery and equipment.</li></ul></div>\n",
