The SLP develops individualized treatment plans, provides patient and caregiver education, and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to promote optimal patient outcomes.</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: -0.25in;\"><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s or Master&rsquo;s Degree in Speech Pathology or Communicative Disorders</li><li>Must hold appropriate certifications and licensures</li><li>Minimum of 1 year of experience in the Speech Language Therapy field</li><li>Ability to perform video swallow studies strongly preferred</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities include:</strong></p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: -0.25in;\"><li>Perform speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing evaluations and treatments according to established standards of care</li><li>Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient progress and goals</li><li>Collaborate with physicians, nursing, rehabilitation staff, patients, and caregivers to support optimal patient outcomes</li><li>Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, home programs, and safety recommendations</li><li>Complete accurate and timely documentation, billing, and communication in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards</li><li>Maintain equipment, infection prevention standards, required licensure, and continuing education requirements</li><li>Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement activities, and program development initiatives</li><li>Promote a professional, collaborative, and patient-centered environment consistent with OMC values</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:.25in;\"><br></p><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: -0.25in;\"><li>Knowledge of speech-language pathology evaluation and treatment techniques across the lifespan</li><li>Strong communication, organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team</li><li>Ability to educate, motivate, and build rapport with patients and caregivers</li><li>Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer systems</li><li>Demonstrates professionalism, flexibility, sound judgment, confidentiality, and a positive attitude</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Physical Requirements for the Role:&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: -0.25in;\"><li>Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and repetitive hand use</li><li>Ability to lift, transfer, push, and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently with or without assistance</li><li>Frequent computer use and documentation throughout the workday</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively in verbal, written, and electronic formats</li><li>Ability to safely perform patient care activities in inpatient and outpatient settings</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Work Environment:&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p>The Speech Language Pathologist provides services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
