This role will provide you the opportunity to participate in the planning, design and construction engineering of exciting and diverse water, wastewater, utilities, infrastructure, and site-development projects for our wide range of municipal and private clients with a key focus on linear infrastructure and contribute to the growth in an emerging geographic market.</p><p>While this position is based in the US Northeast region, you will have the flexibility to focus on the local market and/or become engaged in major projects worldwide supporting design operations from Australia to Europe working with diverse design teams from across the globe. GHDs linear infrastructure expertise continues to grow and gain recognition across North America as #15 firm in Trenchless Technology with growing momentum with great opportunities.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Engineering Solutions Design:</strong> Design engineering solutions and the associated validation process to enable the realization of a design brief (for example, in terms of functionality, performance, aesthetics, and cost) that conforms to organizational and/or regulatory standards.</li><li><strong>Engineering Standards Specification:</strong> Contribute to the analysis of information, the drafting of engineering standards and specifications, and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards within own engineering discipline to inform engineering work in the organization and/or of its suppliers, contractors, and consultants.</li><li><strong>Project Management:</strong> Deliver small- or medium-scale projects while working within an established program management plan.</li><li><strong>Process Design Engineering:</strong> Analyze information and specify the methods and process steps, as well as the plant, machinery, and equipment, required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and process systems to deliver the end product within specified cost and quality parameters.</li><li><strong>Contract Management:</strong> Deliver required outcomes by managing day-to-day relationships with contract service providers while working within an established contract management plan.</li><li><strong>Product and Solution Development:</strong> Define and deliver products and services that meet customer needs by selecting the best possible approaches available within established systems.</li><li><strong>Knowledge Management System:</strong> Work within established knowledge management systems to deliver preset outcomes for an area of responsibility.</li><li><strong>Personal Capability Building:</strong> Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.</li><li><strong>Engineering Inspections:</strong> Carry out inspections to evaluate the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures, and specify the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.</li><li><strong>Improvement/Innovation:</strong> Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.</li><li><strong>Client &amp; Customer Management (External):</strong> Manage relationships with small clients while also helping senior colleagues manage relationships with larger key clients and customers.</li></ul><p><strong>What you will bring to the team:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering</li><li>Current Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain</li><li>At least 6 years of linear focused project experience in water / wastewater / utility / infrastructure design / transmission main / industrial pipelines/ energy sector / industrial sites / grading plans / etc.</li><li>Modeling capabilities</li><li>Willing and able to travel to project sites and client meetings as needed</li></ul><p>#LI-JK1</p><p>As a multicultural organization, we encourage individual achievement and recognize the strength of a diverse workforce.
