The shift is 8:30am-5:00pm Monday-Thursday and 8:00am-4:30pm on Friday.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES / CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;\"><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Provide patient care in outpatient physician practice under the direction of the practicing physician, physician assistant, or licensed nurse.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Assist with clinical and clerical duties to ensure optimization of patient experience within the practice.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room; providing examination gowns and drapes; helping them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment; arranging examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; drawing blood; preparing patients for x-rays; taking electrocardiograms; removing sutures; changing dressings.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Completes records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Schedule hospital procedures, surgeries and tests. Precert and obtain test results.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Handle phone calls and messages for prescriptions, notes, forms, etc.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Complete disability and insurance forms.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Maintain clinical flow in all areas of the practice.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;<strong>QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;\"><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">High school diploma or equivalent required.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Certification or Diploma from accredited Medical Assistant school/program required.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">National Certification preferred.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Heart Saver OR BLS Certification required</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Two years job experience is preferred.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Demonstrate basic computer skills ( MS Office, Word, Excel)</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Demonstrates strong phone/customer service skills</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Effective communication skills, both verbal and written English proficiency required</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Demonstrate willingness to work in a team environment.</li><li style=\"tab-stops:list .5in;\">Demonstrate flexibility due to unexpected changes in workload.&nbsp;</li></ul>",
