    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">We’re looking for a </span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Senior/Executive Underwriter, Professional Liability.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Hamilton Select is looking for an experienced underwriter to join our Professional Liability team, underwriting E&amp;O insurance for lawyers, architects &amp; engineers, insurance agents, real estate agents/brokers, accountants, and a range of miscellaneous E&amp;O accounts.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">We prefer to base the position in Richmond, VA, but we will consider a remote working location for appropriately qualified candidates.</span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you will do</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Underwrite challenging and complex new and renewal submissions within underwriting guidelines and make sound risk decisions that balance our growth and profitability targets</li>\n<li>Negotiate terms and conditions consistent with our coverage-focused underwriting strategies</li>\n<li>Market our insurance products through various communications channels and occasional business travel</li>\n<li>Develop mutually beneficial partnerships and nurture relationships with our appointed wholesale brokers</li>\n<li>Monitor key metrics and ratios with an eye on efficiency and profitability</li>\n<li>Assist in training and mentoring of less experienced employees</li>\n<li>Participate in special projects and corporate initiatives</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you require for the role</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Five or more years of Professional Liability underwriting experience with underwriting authority, preferably in Excess and Surplus (E&amp;S) Lines</li>\n<li>Deep technical knowledge of professional liability or products liability and other liability lines of insurance</li>\n<li>Existing relationships within the wholesale broker community and the demonstrated ability to build effective relationships</li>\n<li>Strong internal and external communication skills, both verbal and written</li>\n<li>Keen attention to detail, sharp analytical competence, and advanced problem-solving skills</li>\n<li>Acute focus on customer service to meet and exceed our best-in-class service aspirations</li>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required, with commensurate work experience considered</li>\n<li>RPLU designation or other industry coursework preferred, but not required</li>\n<li>Ability to travel from time to time to promote our corporate interests</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you can expect from us</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>At Hamilton, we offer a vibrant, entrepreneurial and collaborative workplace shaped by our values: Be Smart, Be Sensible, Be Open and Be More.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Our employees consistently say they would recommend Hamilton as a great place to work — a testament to the inclusive, supportive, and empowering culture we’ve built together.
