If you’re passionate about innovation and thrive in a dynamic environment, we’d love to hear from you.</p>\n<h2>Job Summary and Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>SUMMARY:</strong> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Facilities Technician position serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the second level (Tier2) technical support team. This position carries out expert level diagnostic investigation and engineering for highly complex issues or issues with substantial service impact and collaborate with peer support teams to generate a support plan to maintain and/or resolve issues in the shortest timeframe and as efficiently as possible. This role provides technical leadership, engineering and design recommendations and support organizations to improve the customer experience. This position is the primary interface between the customer and vendors and/or outsourced facilities management.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES</strong> include the following. Other duties may be assigned:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Willingness to work nights, weekends and being on-call.</li>\n <li>Perform daily/weekly/monthly walk-through of critical facilities in support of data center and office operations. Monitor critical facility equipment operation by these walkthroughs and building system monitoring tools.  Execute repair and/or maintenance processes thru to completion.</li>\n <li>Engineering, Implementation, Project Management of critical equipment; includes but is not limited to electrical switchgear, diesel generators, HVAC/CRAC systems, UPS systems, PDUs, RPPs, BMS systems, and fire alarm and suppression systems. </li>\n <li>Provide on-site operation and manage vendors on installation, repair and maintenance of critical systems infrastructure equipment ensuring workplace rules and safety procedures.</li>\n <li>Resolves technical issues that cannot be resolved through normal operations and maintenance procedures and provide leadership on outage calls to drive issue resolution and limit impact to customers. Ensures compliance to the customer’s Outage Reporting Process and collaborate with Engineering, Product Development and the vendor technical organizations when required to drive long-term product improvements. </li>\n <li> Provides technical guidance to junior Tier2 Engineers and technicians. </li>\n <li>Supports the development and delivery of training programs and supports documentation to other departments on new operation, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures </li>\n <li>Provides reports on facility health, including capacities and space; keeping records to track and report on these items before critical capacities are affected.  </li>\n <li>Contributes to budget forecasting and long-term financial planning </li>\n <li>Provides rack level power and cooling engineering for system installs and decommissions. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> <strong>SAFETY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li> Adhere to, promote, and accept personal responsibility for compliance to:\n  <ul>\n   <li> Federal and Local Occupational Safety and Health Regulations</li>\n   <li>Industry Consensus Standards</li>\n   <li>KGPCo Injury and Illness Prevention Program Manual</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Participate in job site safety/hazard analysis</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and/or QUALIFICATIONS </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Minimum Requirements:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Technical Discipline </li>\n <li>In lieu of a degree, experience in critical datacenter industry will be considered </li>\n <li>Working with LAB test/dev/engineering teams adding risk to the CF (Critical Facility).</li>\n <li>Critical telecom datacenter facilities Engineering & infrastructure operation, maintenance and controls suppression systems, physical security in critical rooms and building, building monitoring and controls products.</li>\n <li>Construction, management, maintenance, leasing and property management.</li>\n <li>Critical electrical power engineering from utility through consuming </li>\n <li>Network physical layer provisioning – cables, racking, trays, supports, and infrastructure using Telcordia GR-1275 standard guidelines.</li>\n <li>Ability to read, understand, review, and approve blueprints, one-line diagrams, construction and commissioning documentation.</li>\n <li>Quality Assurance skills in vetting solid vendor performance </li>\n <li>Project management handling vendor and customer relationships in small local and large national teams.</li>\n <li>Computer skills needed in standard office environment.  </li>\n <li>3+ years’ Experience in fault analysis within the telecommunications industry </li>\n <li>2+ years’ Hands-on experience in critical datacenter spaces.</li>\n <li>Exhibit the ability to live the KGPCo Values</li>\n</ul>\n<p> <em>Desired:</em></p>\n<ul>\n <li>A well-rounded, multi-disciplined heavy DC facility resource with impeccable customer relationship skills. </li>\n <li>Electrical and/or cooling license(s) or degree in Engineering or advanced demonstrated experience. </li>\n <li>General knowledge of HVAC equipment (Chillers, CRAHs, CRACs, AHU, Pumps)</li>\n <li>General knowledge of electrical equipment (Transformers, Switchgear, Generators, UPS modules, etc.) </li>\n <li>Basic understanding of electricity (KW, KVA, AMPs, Volts, Ohms, etc.)</li>\n <li>High level knowledge of server systems, network switches, SAN desired but not required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>TRAVEL</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Willing to travel.</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and proof of insurance.</li>\n <li>Must have reliable transportation and the ability to transport minor job-related tools and equipment to work locations. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> <strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
