***POSITION IS LOCATED IN CLAY CENTER*** The purpose of this position is to enhance public safety by working to reduce the risk of probationers and to increase the percent of probationers successfully completing community corrections. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide case management services to assigned clients in accordance with established state and local standards, and policy and procedures, and in accordance with evidence-based practices. Conduct thorough risk/need assessments to target not only clients at greatest risk for re-offending, but to target individual criminogenic needs. (Match level of supervision with overall risk/need.) Target interventions to individual offender criminogenic needs. (Match treatment type to offender.) Engage in supervision strategies that increase the likelihood of offender success and encourage long-term behavior change, such as motivational interviewing and cognitive thinking strategies, and effective practices in community supervision. Hold offenders accountable for their actions by utilizing intermediate sanctions. Maintain written documentation in case files of the supervision of clients in accordance with state and local standards, and policy and procedures. Monitor the client’s progress; performance in any out-of-home placement. Participate in and/or testify in court proceedings. Observe drug screens and collect same sex urine samples as needed for the purposes of monitoring an offender's sobriety. Additional duties as assigned by the Director or designee.
