We are hiring, and all LBT job applications must be submitted online through our career's website.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Under the direction of the Utility Supervisor, the Utility Worker performs a variety of duties related to the cleaning and servicing of Long Beach Transit (LBT) buses and other vehicles and equipment, facility grounds, and work areas. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Fuels, checks water and oil levels of LBT vehicles</li>\n <li>Operates buses for servicing and maintenance purposes</li>\n <li>Sweeps, mops, and prepares bus interior and exterior for bus washing</li>\n <li>Makes bus changes on vehicle routes</li>\n <li>Drives buses between LBT facilities</li>\n <li>Sweeps, mops, and cleans work areas and grounds</li>\n <li>Assists with moving furniture and equipment</li>\n <li>Removes fare revenue and records information</li>\n <li>Operates a variety of equipment including forklift and ground scrubber/sweeper</li>\n <li>Places and replaces fliers and advertisements in buses</li>\n <li>Observes safety rules and contributes to a safe working environment for self and others</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Candidates must be 21 years or older with a valid California Class C driver's license, an excellent safe driving record, and the ability to upgrade to a Class B license.  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:</strong></p>\n<p>The equivalent of a high school diploma or GED. Six months of full-time related work experience in a position successfully performing janitorial and/or industrial cleaning duties or a position responsible for the cleaning, maintenance and/or servicing of a variety of vehicles.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>OTHER REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p>\n<p>The essential functions of the job are performed in a shop environment and outside in various weather conditions.
