    "description_html": "<p>&nbsp;Under the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor, the Medical Assistant will work in conjunction with the RN/LPNs to perform medication management for clients, perform routine medical procedures, triage, coordination of care, and to assist with detox duties including intakes, transfers and discharges as needed. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;</p><ol><li>Manages residential client medications:&nbsp;</li><li>Administers daily medications for residential clients within the scope of current licensure/certification;&nbsp;</li><li>Processes new medication orders;&nbsp;</li><li>Updates electronic medical records (EMR) with med changes;&nbsp;</li><li>Creates and print out MARS;&nbsp;</li><li>Orders medications for clients as needed;&nbsp;</li><li>Completes medication pre-authorizations as needed;&nbsp;</li><li>Administers controlled meds and tapers under supervision of the Nurse and as permitted by current licensure/certification&nbsp;</li><li>Manages medication inventory form – at both intake and discharge;&nbsp;</li><li>Tracks inventory of medications – checking for low supply, expiration dates, etc.&nbsp;</li><li>Orders and tracks all weekly routine lab orders;&nbsp;</li><li>Conducts residential labs – blood draws, urinalysis, etc.;&nbsp;</li><li>Inventories all supplies and places orders as needed;&nbsp;</li><li>Takes and records vital signs/daily weights/blood glucose monitoring/insulin/injections;&nbsp;</li><li>Updates Kitchen staff on client count/dietary needs for meals;&nbsp;</li><li>Coordinates care with PCP office including:&nbsp;</li><li>Notification letter;&nbsp;</li><li>Sets up follow-up PCP appointment&nbsp; for after graduation;&nbsp;</li><li>Assists with ride/transportation coordination for medical visits;&nbsp;</li><li>Triages medical concerns and passes on to Nurse as indicated;&nbsp;</li><li>Records client file/nursing notes as appropriate in EHR system in accordance with acceptable standards;&nbsp;</li><li>Cleans nursing station – sweep, mop, wipe down counters, empty trash, etc.;&nbsp;</li><li>Contacts on-call providers as needed for medical concerns;&nbsp;</li><li>Gathers health information to complete intake forms with new residential clients including nutritional screenings, health history and standing orders;&nbsp;</li><li>Reviews medications with client at discharge and ensures client has adequate supply and understanding of meds;&nbsp;</li><li>Phlebotomy for routine and stat lab orders if certified;&nbsp;</li><li>Answer phones, review emails and responds as appropriate;&nbsp;</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned.&nbsp;</li></ol>",
