This position is designed for a media strategist who loves to pitch, and knows the right placements will enhance and elevate TerraCycle’s reputation through executing public and media relations strategies. High-impact pitching and placements is the key to success in this role.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><u><strong>Primary Responsibilities</strong></u></p><ul><li>Actively pitch “A-list” media contacts to secure features, profiles, and trend stories</li><li>Develop narratives to turn insights into story hooks that won’t be ignored</li><li>Monitor the 24-hour news cycle to insert TerraCycle into our breaking news and cultural moments (newsjacking)</li><li>Write high-quality, informative and interesting press releases and media pitches, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy</li><li>Develop and foster relationships with key media and be able to coordinate interviews, manage deadlines, and develop talking points on behalf of TerraCycle</li><li>Support the development of award submissions on behalf of TerraCycle, continuing to build on its legacy as one of the most innovative companies in sustainability</li></ul><p><u><strong>Requirements</strong></u></p><ul><li>Must be a team player and confident communicator; an “idea person”, able to drive compelling narratives/pitches</li><li>Must possess excellent written communication skills with a deep understanding of AP Style and writing in brand tone and style</li><li>Strong project management skills with ability to supervise multiple projects</li><li>Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both a local and national level</li><li>Strong relationships with both local and national media outlets</li><li>Proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate with an attention to detail.</li><li>Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, or related field is preferred</li><li>5 years of experience in PR; agency experience preferred</li><li>Excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and PR tools (e.g., Cision, Muck Rack, or Meltwater)</li></ul><p>&nbsp;<u><strong>Compensation:</strong></u></p><ul><li>Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, AD&amp;D insurance available after 30 days</li><li>401(k) plan with company match available after 30 days</li><li>22 PTO + 2 VTO + 9 paid holidays per year</li><li>Hybrid work schedule</li><li>Year-round Flex Fridays</li><li>Catered vegetarian lunch available in the office M-F</li><li>Casual office environment</li></ul><p>TerraCycle is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to Diversity, Equality and Inclusion.</p><p><br></p><p>Note: International candidates must be eligible to work in their country of employment.
