Description

Overview Central Health is looking for a skilled ENT Surgeon to join our growing program, committed to serving the underserved community in Travis County. In close collaboration with patients, families (as defined by the patient), and staff across all disciplines and departments, this physician will be responsible for seeing ENT patients in clinic, performing outpatient ENT procedures, assisting with designing infrastructure and workflows to improve access to care, supporting evidence-based practice and improved efficiency, as well as coordinating surgical care delivery. This position will serve as both an attending to learners at various levels and may supervise advanced practice providers. This position is a full-time outpatient position. The primary focus of the role will be seeing patients in clinic and performing outpatient elective surgeries and procedures in an Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC). Ten percent of clinical time is allocated to administrative tasks. Responsibilities Primary Accountabilities: See patients in clinic for ENT related concerns. Performs outpatient ENT procedures, including pre and post-procedural visits. Within scope of credentialing, performs surgeries and surgical care in an Ambulatory Surgery Center Prescribes medications and therapies related to the surgical treatment required . Instructs patients and their families regarding procedures performed, plan of care, and follow‐ up visits. Directs professional and ancillary health care staff during treatment of patients. Responds to inquiries from staff and patients regarding surgical care and treatments. Compiles patient medical data including health history, treatment plans, results of physical examination, etc. and records in electronic medical record. Plans, promotes, demonstrates, recommends, and coordinate high standards of medical practice. Demonstrates knowledge and success in affecting overall clinical operations. Shows proficiency in the use of a computer, software packages, and office machines. Work within the scope of credentialing privileges. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: • High level of skill at building relationships and providing compassionate care to underserved patient populations.• Interpersonal savvy and influence skills in managing difficult clients and patients.• High degree of knowledge and competency in the practice of medicine and associated charting requirements.• High level of problem-solving skill to better serve patients and staff. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.• Ability to utilize computers for data entry and information retrieval.• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and emergency situations successfully.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Ability to implement and evaluate operational and emergency situations successfully.• Flexibility and adaptability to change.• Ability to work on multiple tasks and projects and to prioritize.• Demonstrated understanding and/or experience working in an integrated delivery environment. People Management/Department Management/Business Unit Management:• Actively communicates with others in a clear, understandable, and professional manner in person and on the phone.• Works in tandem with the Central Health operations and clinical leaders to ensure a collaborative team-oriented environment.• Demonstrates professional management skills, including the ability to plan, organize and schedule work in an efficient and productive manner, focusing on key priorities and meeting deadlines.• Actively interact with peers, executives, employees, and consultants in a manner that represents Central Health positively.• Supports, leads, and models the vision, mission, and values of Central Health • Serves as the champion for initiatives that may impact the operations of Central Health and/or the quality of patient care. Qualifications M INIMUM EDUCATION: M.D. or D.O. from an accredited educational institution. Completion of an accredited residency in Otolaryngology. P R E F E RR E D EDUCATION: M INIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years of clinical and surgical ENT experience P R E F E RR E D EXPERIENCE: 5 years of ENT experience with 2 years in leadership experience R EQ U IRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: 1. Unrestricted License to practice medicine in the state of Texas. 2. Board Certification or passage of Board Certification Examination from applicable credentialing body within two years of employment. 3. Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration for the purpose of writing prescription. 4. Basic Life Support (BLS) ‐ Obtained through approved American Heart Association or Red Cross.
