    "description": "<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>This position is responsible for performing whole blood collection in donor centers and mobile sites; conducts donor registration, interviews, draw, and donor care; performs regulated pre- and post-collection functions including storage and transportation of blood; promotes a positive organizational image; designated as essential during severe weather or emergency operations.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>$25,000 sign on bonus available</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Primary Duties, responsibilities or Activities Required by Job</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide excellent customer service by acknowledging the donor, treating donors in a respectful manner, and striving to provide each donor with a positive and pleasant experience which would encourage their return.</li>\n <li>Perform all aspects of whole blood collection as required.</li>\n <li>Conduct donor interviews and evaluate donor suitability based on current Standard Operating Procedures and criteria.</li>\n <li>Obtain and document donor hemoglobin and vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, and height).</li>\n <li>Maintain confidentiality of all donor information.</li>\n <li>Perform site preparation, phlebotomy, and discontinuation of whole blood procedures; monitor donor progress and respond promptly to adverse reactions; ensure collected product meets standards.</li>\n <li>Perform pre- and post-draw activities including quality control, processing and packing of blood products, cleaning equipment, restocking supplies, proper handling of controlled supplies, and assisting with pre-draw setup and post-draw packing for mobile operations.</li>\n <li>Works in donor centers and mobile collection sites as assigned; travels between sites as required to meet operational needs.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Minimum Education & Experience</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><u>Education:</u></p>\n<p>High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED).</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><u>Related Experience: </u></p>\n<p>Experience interacting with customers or the public in a service-oriented setting.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA's)</strong></p>\n<p><u>Knowledge:</u></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to read and interpret medical, technical, regulatory, and quality procedures. </li>\n <li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, desktop applications, and computer software systems.  </li>\n</ul>\n<p><u>Skills:</u></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Cultural competency and the ability to communicate effectively in a culturally sensitive manner with both individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.</li>\n <li>Effective written and oral communication; strong attention to detail and organization; accurate numeric transcription. </li>\n <li>Persuasive and customer service skills; cultural competency to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and groups. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><u>Abilities:</u></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Resolve donor and customer concerns and maintain composure under pressure. </li>\n <li>Work in a team environment or independently; be responsive and available to management as issues arise. </li>\n <li>Use logic and reasoning to evaluate alternatives and solve problems within established policies and procedures. </li>\n <li>Plan and coordinate multiple workflows; monitor donor reactions and qualitative medical information as appropriate to role. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>At Community Blood Center of Greater Kansas City, we have a passionate enthusiasm for service excellence.
