Please use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox when accessing Candidate Home. By joining the American Red Cross  you will touch millions of lives every year and experience the greatness of the human spirit at its best.  Are you ready to be part of  the world's largest humanitarian network? Join us—Where your Career is a Force for Good! Job Description: Joining The American Red Cross is like nothing else – it’s as much something you feel as something you do. You become a vital part of the world’s largest humanitarian network. Joining a team of welcoming individuals who are exceptional, yet unassuming. Diverse, yet uncompromising in unity. You grow your career within a movement that matters, where success is measured in people helped, communities made whole, and individuals equipped to never stop changing lives and situations for the better. When you choose to be a force for good, you’ll have mentors who empower your growth along a purposeful career path. You align your life’s work with an ongoing mission that’s bigger than all of us. As you care for others, you’re cared for with competitive compensation and benefits. You join a community that respects who you are away from work as much as what you do while at work. Where Your Career is a Force for Good! WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: This dynamic Philanthropy Director will identify, engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward HNW in dividual donors and prospects from a Division perspective, with a primary focus on building new donor relationships and opening new philanthropic markets. Provide significant divisional support and expand donor financial support of the American Red Cross by developing a new pipeline of transformational individual gifts. Grow an assigned portfolio of donors, sponsors, and prospects to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals exceeding $5,000,000, with an emphasis on seven‑figure and multi‑year giving. Assist donors in creating meaning and legacy through impactful philanthropy in support of the American Red Cross mission. Provide support, development, and leadership guidance to volunteers and senior stakeholders engaged in high‑level fundraising efforts. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD This leader will design and implement Division‑level fundraising strategies focused on securing large, transformational gifts from high‑net‑worth individuals. This includes building a new donor pipeline rather than managing a fully established portfolio. Manage and develop complex individual, corporate, and/or foundation relationships, including seven‑figure gift opportunities that may cross regional or divisional boundaries. Analyze donor, prospect, and market intelligence to identify new high‑capacity individuals and philanthropic communities. Make strategic decisions regarding which individuals, families, or entities to prioritize, with a focus on donor segments where the organization currently has limited penetration. Lead Division fundraising growth initiatives by expanding capacity to identify, cultivate, and solicit high‑net‑worth donors. Provide education, technical expertise, and programmatic insight to support innovative, relationship‑driven fundraising strategies. Personally engage in the solicitation of funds from high‑level contributors. Maintain responsibility for a high‑value portfolio with a revenue target of $5,000,000+, recognizing that early success includes pipeline development, relationship building, and access creation. Provide guidance and thought leadership to development staff and key volunteers, serving as a subject‑matter expert in NNW individual philanthropy and transformational giving. Travel extensively within the Division to support donor engagement and relationship‑building. Will drive a vehicle to donor meetings and other business locations; responsible for providing own transportation for business purposes. Scope: Senior individual contributor and acknowledged expert within the organization and the broader philanthropic community.
