Join an innovative, collaborative team at the forefront of supporting critical research and clinical endeavors in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences (DPBS) at UCSF! As a Financial Analyst, you'll play a key role in managing and optimizing funding for our esteemed faculty and Principal Investigators, contributing directly to the success of impactful research and patient care initiatives. You'll be part of a dynamic Financial Services Team where collaboration and mentorship are at the heart of everything we do. Whether you're working on complex financial analysis, budget management, or providing high-quality support to faculty, you’ll benefit from a wealth of knowledge and expertise within the team. Our environment fosters growth, with opportunities to contribute to major team projects, develop new skills, and build meaningful networks here at UCSF.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in related area and minimum three years experience or equivalent combination of experience / training.
• Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems
• Ability to independently gather required information to organize and perform financial analysis assignments
• Proven ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner
• Proven ability using spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports
• Proven interpersonal skills with peers throughout the organization; strong service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Proven ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high-volume environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting, fiscal and reporting principles
• Demonstrated competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports
• Independent judgment and strong organization and communication skills and customer service focus across broad and diverse subject areas
• Maintains current knowledge of compliance regulations in all areas of fund management and administration
• Ability to manage significant volume of transactions
• Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Ability to function as a member of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources
