    "description": "<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>MaxLinear is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to focus on Optical Modules, AECs, and Data Center Applications and the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manage the validation and analysis of ASICs used in Optical Modules, AECs, and Data Center Applications, including infrastructure supporting Generative Artificial Intelligence workloads</li>\n <li>Test automation development and emulation test development supporting product development from concept through production and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure robust and reliable designs</li>\n <li>Collaborate with design, systems, and hardware teams to validate designs in pre-silicon and silicon phases for high-performance data center and AI applications</li>\n <li>Lead technical activities for characterization and validation of high-speed serial interface and re-timer designs</li>\n <li>Develop reference boards and test platforms for evaluation and customer support in cloud-scale environments</li>\n <li>Support debugging and optimization of high-speed links in lab and field environments</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Proven experience with high-speed serial interfaces (e.g., PCIe, Ethernet, SerDes) used in data center and AI systems</li>\n <li>Expertise in DSP re-timer architectures and signal processing techniques</li>\n <li>Strong background in signal integrity analysis, PCB design, and simulation tools (ADS, Cadence, Matlab)</li>\n <li>Hands-on experience with test and measurement, and debug of high-speed links</li>\n <li>Excellent problem-solving and technical communication skills</li>\n <li>BS in Electrical Engineering or related + 5 years of experience, or MS + 3 years of experience, or Ph.D.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Compensation and Benefits</h2>\n<p>MaxLinear has a Total Compensation philosophy which includes base salary and annual discretionary bonus eligibility and many positions also include stock-based compensation.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>MaxLinear's good faith estimate starting base salary range is:  $134,000 to $175,000 Annually</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We offer competitive benefits designed to support employee health, welfare, and retirement and some highlights are:  health care benefits, 401k savings plan, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and paid time off.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The actual starting base salary will be determined by the match to certain role-related criteria such as educational degree(s) or equivalent, relevant work experience, skillset needed for the role, and geographic location; this is not an all-inclusive list as some roles may require unique skills or experience.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to, and will not be discriminated against based on race, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status.</p>\n<h2>Company Overview</h2>\n<p>MaxLinear is a global, NASDAQ-traded company (MXL) where the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well.
