This is a non-union leadership position that directly oversees union-represented employees. This role ensures safe, reliable, and compliant operations while maintaining strong labor relations, operational efficiency, and high service standards. The ideal candidate is a field-oriented leader with utility experience, a strong safety mindset, and demonstrated success managing union workforces within a regulated environment.</p><p></p><p><b>Position Summary:</b></p><p>We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Team Leader to lead day-to-day service operations at our Indianapolis location. This role is responsible for managing union-represented technicians, ensuring high-quality customer service, maintaining safety and compliance standards, and driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for developing teams.</p><p></p><p><b>Main Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Provide leadership and operational oversight for union-represented service personnel and field crews</li><li>Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily work activities in alignment with collective bargaining agreements</li><li>Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with OSHA, company safety programs, and regulatory requirements</li><li>Promote a strong safety first culture through coaching, observations, training, and accountability</li><li>Monitor service performance, productivity, outage response, and work quality</li><li>Serve as the primary escalation point for service issues and workforce concerns</li><li>Maintain positive labor relations, including day-to-day contract interpretation and issue resolution in collaboration with HR and Labor Relations</li><li>Support emergency response, storm restoration, and after-hours service coverage as needed</li><li>Partner with engineering, operations, fleet, and supply chain teams to improve service delivery</li><li>Track KPIs, workforce utilization, and budget adherence; recommend process improvements</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred</li><li>7&#43; years of experience in a service, maintenance, or operations environment</li><li>2&#43; years of experience in a supervisory or management role overseeing union employees</li><li>Working knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and union work rules</li><li>Strong understanding of utility safety standards, regulatory compliance, and field operations</li><li>Proven leadership, conflict resolution, and communication skills</li><li>Proficiency with work management systems, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office</li><li>Valid driver’s license with ability to meet company driving requirements</li></ul><p><b>Preferred Experience</b></p><ul><li>Electric, gas, or water utility operations and maintenance</li><li>Managing multi-skilled field crews in a regulated environment</li><li>Experience with emergency response, storm restoration, or 24/7 operations</li><li>Familiarity with utility service vehicles, fleet coordination, and field technology</li></ul><ul><li>and advancement opportunities within utility operations</li></ul><p><b>Additional Information</b></p><p>This position is classified as <b>non-union management</b> and requires regular interaction with <b>union-represented employees</b>.
