Wash/Disinfect Crew
Full Time – Hourly
At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation packag e . The base hiring pay for this role is $20.30 per hour .
Applicants must not now, or at any time in the future, require employer sponsorship for a work visa. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer. Must be 18 years of age or older (all plant positions) Job Responsibilities
To wash and disinfect turkey production facilities in a safe and organized manner, ensuring that all company policies are followed
Assist all support areas of breeder production
Work occasional weekends washing unless otherwise instructed
Perform repairs, maintenance on equipment, and construction on projects as assigned by supervisor
Follow sanitation and isolation procedures using tracking patterns
Follow safety policies and procedures as recommended
Communicate with supervisor on a regular basis to receive work orders as needed
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Assist on vaccinations and insemination occasionally when not washing
Minimum Qualifications
Basic math skills/able to read and write at 4th grade level
Able to work scheduled weekends and holidays
Supply reliable transportation for travel to work sites and meet all sanitation requirements
Cannot own or raise any type of fowl (i.e. turkeys, chickens, geese, pheasants, parakeets, etc.)
Able to work in a smoke free environment/Must be 21 yrs. old and able to obtain a Medical Card
Must possess a valid driver's license & able to meet JOTS driving qualifications
PHYSICAL: Work in a dusty environment with ammonia present in all weather conditions while using approved respiratory protection
Facial hair must not compromise respirator face to mask seal-no beards
Twisting/stooping/bending/squat/reach while handling turkeys/fee/letter/equipment 10 lbs. to 50 lbs. from occasionally to a frequent basis
Able to work on uneven surfaces
Preferred Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous animal husbandry experience and/or a farm background (two years)
Bobcat tractor experience
Able to use and operate high pressure washer
Small engine/pump repair experience
Able to operate a scissor lift
