The position is remote, based in Florida or South Carolina, and supports the <strong>Southeast Region</strong> of the Acute Care Division.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer of the Acute Care Division and in collaboration with the Southeast Regional Vice President, facility CEOs within the region, and the division quality team, the Regional Chief Medical Officer is responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality, safe patient care and superior experience for patients and their families.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide leadership and expertise in clinical alignment, quality, clinical effectiveness, safety, medical staff operations, resource utilization, and physician leadership development</li>\n <li>Provide input for and oversee the successful execution and universal adoption of the UHS Acute Care Division Quality Program</li>\n <li>Provide guidance to medical staffs, MECs, and medical staff services teams within the region on physician governance issues, ensuring compliance with medical staff bylaws and policies impacting the medical staff and clinical care</li>\n <li>Participate with hospital leaders in formulating strategic planning and accomplishing institutional goals and objectives while serving as a liaison between the medical staff and administration</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Position Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum of 10 years of clinical practice experience, with hospital experience strongly preferred</li>\n <li>Minimum of 2 years of experience as Chief Medical Officer of an acute care hospital or health system <u>required</u></li>\n <li>Experience participating in medical staff leadership roles and committees</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Medical degree from an accredited medical school</li>\n <li>Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in the U.S.</li>\n <li>Master’s or Physician Executive advanced degree strongly preferred (MBA, MHA, MPH, MS, MHL, MMM)</li>\n <li>Active Florida or South Carolina medical license</li>\n <li>Clean professional background and history</li>\n <li>Travel requirements up to 75%</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Required Skills:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and consensus-building skills</li>\n <li>Highly developed organizational, leadership, and management skills</li>\n <li>Systems thinker with demonstrated success in strategic planning, execution, and implementation of care management programs</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge and background in quality and safety, regulatory, health industry trends and direction, risk management within medical staffs, and medical staff governance</li>\n <li>Expertise in data-driven approaches and initiatives to drive improvements in quality, safety, and patient experience</li>\n <li>Ability to educate, mentor and provide oversight to medical staffs and support teams</li>\n <li>Experience in supporting medical education programs (GME and UME)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Universal Health Services, Inc.
