    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><p><strong>Job Purpose:</strong><br>Conducts testing of chairs, tables, and other institutional furniture related products. Conducts testing of materials, experimental products, and finished goods, to determine performance and/or compliance with industry standards. Job to be conducted in a furniture manufacturing environment; factory test lab. Develop and maintain documentation required for accreditation compliance and audits.</p><p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong><br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Manages and performs daily testing activities concerned with product development, design validation, and experimentation.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Determines conditions under which tests are to be conducted, and phases of test operations.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Builds and/or procures equipment and machines required to perform specific tests.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Confers with engineering and technical personnel to resolve testing problems; provides input to help troubleshoot and/or resolve design or manufacturing issues.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Analyzes and interprets test data; prepares technical reports for use by engineering and management personnel.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Coordinates outside source testing efforts.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Maintains testing database, test records and documentation required for accreditation.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Determines applicable industry standard to ensure compliance.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Supports purchasing with testing and evaluation of purchased items.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Perform product testing using weights, pulleys, and electronic load cells.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Performs other duties as assigned.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong><br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;High school diploma or equivalent with two years of additional college or technical training or equivalent experience.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ability to work independently with strong documentation and organizational skills.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ability to handle multiple projects with firm deadlines.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Hands-on mechanical testing 75%, documentation 25%.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;General computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Basic knowledge of load cells, actuators, measuring tools, and pneumatics a plus.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Strong mechanical aptitude required.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ability to fabricate test apparatus and components using conventional machine shop mills, lathes, etc. a plus.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Strong Documentation Skills using Word or Excel.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ability to document and follow procedures, maintain records for auditing.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Experience dealing with mechanical product testing a plus.<br>&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Knowledge of ISO 17025 a plus.<br><br><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong><br>Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds to waist level, to frequently push and/or pull up to 30 pounds. Some extensive standing and bending. Will require to sit in front of a computer for approximately 1 hour a day. Frequent walking. Must wear applicable and proper protective equipment including, but not limited to, protective eye wear when walking out to the plant.</p></div></div></div>\n",
