Determines feasibility of designing new plant equipment o modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors. Provides technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages, and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning. Directs the operation of the physical facility functions including equipment installations and service functions for facility (includes safety and outside contractors). Plans, formulates and administers various engineering programs. Designs and facilitates capital projects within the facility. May supervise departmental and/or maintenance employees. Develops, trains and motivates; make job assignments, and follows contract and/or company policies. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. Tests newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications. Oversees maintenance of facility and equipment. Performs equipment and project design. Plans and supervises project work. Provides manufacturing support to business centers. Performs cost estimating. Troubleshoots equipment. Initiates purchase for equipment and maintenance supplies. Reports on maintenance and engineering activities to management. Qualifications JOB QUALIFICATIONS Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent work experience 5 years of relevant maintenance or process engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a machining, aerospace or industrial gas turbines operation Organization The Howmet engines business produces world-class aerospace engine components, including investment castings, fasteners, rings and forgings.
