Purpose
The purpose of this position is to oversee disaster recovery case management services for households impacted by the 2025 Eaton Fire in Los Angeles County. The Case Management Supervisor ensures high-quality, compliant, and coordinated recovery services that support long-term housing stability and household recovery.
This position supervises case management staff, coordinates with recovery partners and Long-Term Recovery Groups, and ensures program operations align with trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based practices while meeting grant and donor requirements.
This position is anticipated to be funded through May 2028
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Supervise, coach, and support disaster recovery case management staff, interns, and volunteers.
Provide administrative supervision including case consultation, case review, and workload management.
Monitor service delivery to ensure households progress toward safe and stable housing recovery.
Establish and maintain program procedures consistent with disaster recovery best practices and funding requirements.
Ensure accurate and timely case documentation, data entry, and reporting are entered into required databases.
Review financial assistance recommendations and approve case activities in accordance with program policies.
Coordinate outreach strategies to identify disaster-affected households needing services.
Serve as liaison with community partners including the Long-Term Recovery Group, VOAD partners, government agencies, and service providers.
Facilitate case conferencing and resource coordination meetings with partners and funders.
Support resolution of complex or high-barrier recovery cases.
Ensure staff utilize trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based service delivery approaches.
Prepare program reports, outcomes tracking, and grant documentation.
Monitor program performance metrics and implement quality improvement processes.
Coordinate response activities during activations including triage and surge staffing.
Provide staff training, onboarding, and professional development.
Manage program supplies, workflow processes, and service delivery logistics.
Participate in community meetings, disaster recovery planning groups, and interagency coordination efforts.
Perform other duties as assigned to support disaster response and recovery operations.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, emergency management, nonprofit management, or related field required. or 4 years of experience in one of these fields may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
Minimum of one (1) year of previous work experience in case management, housing services, disaster recovery, or social services.
Minimum of 2 years previous supervisory experience in managing others.
Experience working with disaster-impacted or vulnerable populations is strongly preferred.
Other Skills
Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
Knowledge of disaster recovery systems, housing recovery processes, and community resource networks.
Excellent organizational, reporting, and documentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced disaster recovery environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including public and partner presentations.
Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and case management databases.
Ability to build collaborative relationships with partners and stakeholders.
Commitment to trauma-informed and culturally responsive services.
Bilingual preferred but not required.
Special Requirements
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout Los Angeles County for field-based services.
The job will require reference checks, standard criminal background checks, and motor vehicle background checks.
Position functions as a mandated reporter.
Work Environment
Hybrid office and field-based position requiring regular home visits, temporary housing site visits, and community partner meetings in disaster-affected areas.
May require participation in emergency response activations.
