    "description": "<p>Houston Landscapes Ltd. is seeking an <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Assistant Foreman </span>for its location in Vancouver, BC. It’s a full-time (40 hours per week), permanent position, $32.50h - $34.00/hour (depending on experience) paid bi-weekly. Overtime compensation is based on the current BC Employment Standards Act (1.5 times the regular wage paid if the daily hours exceed 8 hours or the weekly hours exceed 40 hours).</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We offer an employee benefit plan that includes health benefits that are available after six months with the company. Two weeks of paid vacation each year.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Business Address in Lower Mainland:</span> 260 Riverside Dr., North Vancouver, BC, V7H 1V1</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Job duties:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with daily inspections of landscaped areas to ensure overall presentation and condition meet Houston Landscapes’ standards and quality expectations.</li>\n<li>Support the Foreman in prioritizing horticultural tasks and coordinating daily work assignments.</li>\n<li>Help coordinate the activities of ground maintenance workers and assist with maintaining work records and logs.</li>\n<li>Assist with estimating labour and material requirements for projects.</li>\n<li>Support assigning duties to workers and help train and mentor new employees.</li>\n<li>Assist in overseeing the planning and construction of landscaped environments, including ornamental trees, shrubs, flowers, lawns and softscape features.</li>\n<li>Participate in and assist with the installation of paving stone patios, walkways, driveways, ponds and water features, as well as flagstone and other natural stone patios, walkways and pool decks.</li>\n<li>Assist with organizing and overseeing site excavation and grading.</li>\n<li>Attend meetings as required and provide updates to the Foreman or management team.</li>\n<li>Act as a point of support on site in the Foreman’s absence and help ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Requirements: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have completed high school.</li>\n<li>Must have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving a Tractor, Bobcat and Pick-up truck.</li>\n<li>Must have at least two years of experience as a ground maintenance worker.</li>\n<li>Must have the ability to supervise 3 – 5 people.</li>\n<li>Must be willing to work in all weather conditions.</li>\n<li>Must be a team player, have client focus, and have excellent oral communication.</li>\n<li>Must be able to speak, read and write in English.</li>\n</ul>",
