Maintains the sterile field and anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</strong></p><ul><li>Promote the mission, vision and values of the organization.&nbsp;</li><li>Function as a scrub person during operative and other invasive procedures by:</li></ul><ol><li>Assembling supplies and equipment required for the procedure;&nbsp;</li><li>Preparing and organizing sterile supplies and instruments for the procedure;&nbsp;</li><li>Performing accounting procedures in concert with the RN circulator;&nbsp;</li><li>Assisting with placement of sterile drapes;&nbsp;</li><li>Providing instruments and supplies to the surgical team during the procedure;&nbsp;</li><li>Maintaining an organized sterile field;&nbsp;</li><li>Ensuring sterility of the field and taking corrective actions as needed; and&nbsp;</li><li>Preparing sterile dressings</li></ol><ul><li>Maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.&nbsp;</li><li>Clean and prepare instruments for processing and transport them to the decontamination area.&nbsp;</li><li>Assists with maintaining and providing a clean environment between cases and prepares the room for subsequent cases.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Utilize aseptic techniques and ensure a safe environment for the patient.&nbsp;</li><li>Follow hospital policies and procedures.&nbsp;</li><li>Utilize time management skills to facilitate the schedule.&nbsp;</li><li>Routinely attends departmental meetings and hospital forums.&nbsp;</li><li>Routinely participates in department projects to continuously improve the department and/or organization.&nbsp;</li><li>Completion of mandatory department competencies and hospital education.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintain regular and predictable attendance.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Perform other essential duties as assigned.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><u><strong>Shift Requirement(s)</strong></u></p><ul><li>Call is required.&nbsp;</li></ul>",
