Emerald Youth has engaged more than 30,000 children and young adults in a variety of community programs over nearly three decades. Every year, Emerald Youth serves more than 3,000 children, teens and young adults in the heart of Knoxville through faith, learning and health programs.</span><br><br></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: #222222\">JOB SUMMARY:</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with Emerald Youth Foundation and EV Davidson-Carl Cowan Pool policies and procedures. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #222222\">Schedule/Pay</span></span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold\">Pay is set at $13.50/hr</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #222222\">School Year Schedule: </span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">School year hours are 3:00-8:30pm during the week (Monday-Friday) and some weekends during the day.</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #222222\">Summer Schedule: </span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> During the summer hours are between 9:30am - 5:30pm or 8:00pm, flexible hours. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: #222222\">ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Maintain constant surveillance of pool area to ensure safety.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Respond to emergency situations immediately.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Understands and enforces pool safety rules, policies, and guidelines according to Emerald Youth Sports Aquatic requirements.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Develops positive relationships with swimmers and families, encouraging parent involvement.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Performs chemical testing and checks throughout the day.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Assists with pool and pool area upkeep and cleanliness, i.e., monitoring pool area, organizing equipment, reports damages.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Updates required records and reports data as required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Completes accident and incident reports as needed</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Attends meetings and other general duties required by supervisor.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\"><span style=\"color: #222222\">QUALIFICATIONS:</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Dedicated Christian with clear knowledge of the Gospel and a passion for the mission of Emerald Youth Foundation; connected to a church community; possesses a strong reputation for honesty, integrity, and high moral standards. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">At least 15 years of age.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must be able to swim. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Red Cross Lifeguard certification required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">CPR, First Aid Certification preferred (will train if needed and if session is available).</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999; font-size: 13px\"><em>It is the policy of Emerald Youth Foundation to provide employment opportunities to all people </em><em>without regard to race, color, sex, age, or national origin.</em></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #999999; font-size: 13px\"><em>Section 702 of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 provides that the religious discrimination law will not apply to a religious corporation, association, educational institution or society with respect to the employment of individuals of a particular religion to perform work connected with the carrying on by such a corporation, association, educational institution or society of its activities.</em></span></p>",
