Here, you will make an impact by:</p><ul><li>Support product quality, product development, process scale-ups, or production processes by learning and performing elementary tests, measurements, and tasks for experimentation and/or production.</li><li>The technician will also gain understanding and assist in the development of quality standards and test procedures in order to inspect materials, in-process, or final products to ensure 3M quality standards are met.</li><li>This position is a 12 hour shift rotating position at the Cordova plant.</li><li>Conducting analysis of samples with minimal supervision and report results.</li><li>Supporting QC lab process improvement initiatives.</li><li>Supporting product validations and optimizations.</li><li>Utilizing LIMS and other Computer Systems.</li><li>Documenting all test results.</li><li>Maintenance of laboratory equipment.</li><li>Participating in quality improvement programs.</li><li>Maintaining/improving testing cycle times for QC.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>Basic Qualifications: </b></p><ul><li>High school diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution completed and verified prior to start.</li><li>M<span>inimum of one (1) year of quality control technician experience.</span></li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Associates/Two Year Technical degree from an accredited institution.</li><li>Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a chemical operator, laboratory technician or combination of both.</li><li>Understanding of basic concepts of measurement systems, testing, and calibration.</li><li>Working knowledge of the basic quality tools (check sheets, process flow diagrams, cause-and-effect, histograms, Pareto charts, scatter diagrams, run charts) and general awareness of a consistent problem-solving methodology, such as the &#34;7 Step Problem Solving Method&#34;.</li><li>Experience working with diverse team including external partners</li><li>Ability to communicate regularly and effectively on test results and observations.</li><li>Detail oriented.</li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills.</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>Location:  Cordova, IL</b></p><p><b>Travel:  None</b></p><p><b>Relocation:  Is not authorized</b><b>           </b></p><p></p><p><b>Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).</b></p><p></p><p><i>Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.</i></p><p></p><p><i>U.S. Export Control laws and U.S. Government Department of Defense contracts and sub-contracts impose certain restrictions on companies and their ability to share export-controlled and other technology and services with certain &#34;non-</i></p><p><i>U.S. persons&#34; (persons who are not U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents of the U.S., refugees, &#34;Temporary Residents&#34; (granted Amnesty or Special Agricultural Worker provisions), or persons granted asylum.</i></p><p></p><p><i>To comply with these laws, 3M must help assess candidates&#39; U.S. person status.</i></p><p></p><p><i>The questions asked in this application are intended to assess this and will be used for evaluation purposes only.
