Our rich diversity of people and ideas makes us a stronger, more innovative organization.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p>\n<p>The Senior Estimator is responsible for developing, preparing, and managing detailed cost estimates and proposals for complex projects in the <strong>transmission, substation power sectors</strong>. This role provides expert support throughout the bid and pre-construction process, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with client requirements and company standards. The Senior Estimator works cross-functionally with project management, engineering, procurement, and field operations teams to validate scopes of work, identify risk, and create competitive pricing strategies.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead the development of <strong>detailed estimates for transmission, substation power distribution projects</strong>, including labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor costs.</li>\n <li>Interpret design drawings, technical specifications, and bid documents to define project scope and estimate requirements.</li>\n <li>Conduct quantity take-offs, analyze constructability, and validate design assumptions to ensure realistic project budgets.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure estimates align with project execution strategies.</li>\n <li>Identify, quantify, and assess project risks and opportunities; incorporate mitigation strategies into estimates.</li>\n <li>Prepare and present estimate summaries, bid proposals, and support documentation for executive and client review.</li>\n <li>Maintain a strong understanding of industry pricing trends, labor agreements, productivity benchmarks, and market conditions.</li>\n <li>Support contract negotiations by providing cost analysis and value engineering alternatives.</li>\n <li>Mentor and support junior estimators, providing guidance on industry practices, estimating methods, and company procedures.</li>\n <li>Ensure all estimates comply with corporate standards, client requirements, and applicable safety and quality protocols.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.</li>\n <li>7+ years of estimating experience in<strong> power utility construction (transmission, substation, t-line)</strong>.</li>\n <li>Experience with transmission lines, substations, and electrical distribution projects.</li>\n <li>Experience with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects.</li>\n <li>Experience estimating large $75M+ projects.</li>\n <li>Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., <strong>B2W</strong>, <strong>HeavyBid, Sage, or similar</strong>) and MS Excel.</li>\n <li>Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Salary Range: </strong>$120,000/yr to $180,000/yr <strong>(will be dependent upon level of experience)</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Benefits:</strong> </p>\n<p>Full-time employees are eligible to participate in our benefit plan which includes the following: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>401(k) Plan</li>\n <li>Employee Stock Purchase Plan</li>\n <li>Health, Dental, & Vision Insurance</li>\n <li>Voluntary Life Insurance</li>\n <li>Voluntary Short Term & Long-Term Disability</li>\n <li>Paid time off</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Henkels & McCoy West, LLC. is an Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities, Females, Protected Veterans, and Individuals with Disabilities.</strong></p>",
