As a member of the Hawaiian Airlines ‘ohana, this individual contributor role performs all functions in the repair and maintenance of aircraft, which includes dismantling, repairing, assembly, and erection of machinery and mechanical devices. This is a union represented position.</p>\n<h2>Key Duties</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Responsible for accomplishing assigned maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair work on Hawaiian Airlines aircraft(s).</li>\n <li>Checks, dismantles, overhauls, repairs, fabricates, and welds all parts of aircraft, including engines, radio equipment, instruments, electrical systems, heating systems and hydraulic systems.</li>\n <li>Performs machine tool work in connection with the above mechanic maintenance work.</li>\n <li>Dismantles, repairs, fabricates, welds, alters, and maintains all machinery and mechanical devices, including automotive equipment, ramp equipment, buildings, hanger, and fuel storage or dispensing equipment.</li>\n <li>Shall be required to return an aircraft to service after maintenance had been performed as allowed by the GMM and the privileges of the airframe and powerplant license.</li>\n <li>Shall be required to sign work records in connection with work performed.</li>\n <li>Inspects parts, sub-assemblies and completed assemblies only to the extent necessary to determine, accomplish and approve own work.</li>\n <li>Will be required to but not limited to be working on check aircraft.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills</h2>\n<p><strong>Required</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must have FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.</li>\n <li>Must be able to become qualified to perform engine run and taxi on the A321 and A330 aircrafts.</li>\n <li>Must be able to become qualified on the A321, A330, 717 and 787 aircrafts.</li>\n <li>Must have own tools.</li>\n <li>Must be able to lift 25lbs. frequently and up to 70lbs. as needed.</li>\n <li>Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve technical issues.</li>\n <li>Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach and grasp.</li>\n <li>Must have a valid unexpired driver’s license issued by a US state, a US territory or the District of Columbia.</li>\n <li>Flexible to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.</li>\n <li>Ability to obtain airport security clearance.</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate in English.</li>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li>\n <li>Minimum age of 18.</li>\n <li>Must be authorized to work in the U.S.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Previous aircraft mechanic experience.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Job-Specific Leadership Expectations</h2>\n<p>Embody our values to own safety, do the right thing, be kind-hearted, deliver performance, and be remarkable.</p>\n<h2>Starting Rate</h2>USD $36.92/Hr.\n<h2>Bonus</h2>\n<h2>Pay Details </h2>Sign-On Bonus available to external candidates only:   - $10,000 paid out after 30 days\n<h2>Total Rewards</h2>\n<p><em>Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines and Horizon Air pay and benefits can vary by company, location, number of regularly scheduled hours worked, length of employment, and employment status.</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Free stand-by travel privileges on Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines & Horizon Air</li>\n <li>Comprehensive well-being programs including medical, dental and vision benefits</li>\n <li>Generous 401k match program</li>\n <li>Annual bonus plans</li>\n <li>Generous holiday and paid time off </li>\n</ul>\n<p>For more information about Alaska/Hawaiian/Horizon Total Rewards please visit our career site and view benefits.</p>\n<h2>Airport SIDA Badge Requirements</h2>Important notification for employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar: Employees will be required to obtain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority and maintain good standing in order to keep their SIDA badge.
