Description
OVERVIEW
Cadrex is searching for an Engineering Manager to Implement and maintain the engineering process. Works closely with other departments to ensure continuity in Engineering, Operations, Quality and Safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the generation of new pricing proposals, with new and existing customers Take an active role in growing new business by continual training and evaluation of new technology, and optimization of the estimating process Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and parts Provide technical expertise or support to manufacturing and quality Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations Confer with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status Consult or negotiate with clients to prepare project specifications Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clients Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the Engineering and technical work performed in the Engineering Department? Selects, develops, trains, and supervises Engineering staff (Estimating & Engineering) Sets annual departmental/individual goals, and measure progress throughout the year Supports the selection of correct manufacturing processes, technologies and equipment used for new products Support and enforce the NPI process Support budgeting efforts (Labor, Equipment, OH)
