This role is part of a dedicated team supporting a mission critical healthcare claims platform, built on InterSystems IRIS / Caché, MUMPS, ObjectScript, and proprietary development tooling. This engineer serves as a technical anchor for the platform — ensuring stability, correctness, and long-term sustainability while the platform continues to evolve.</p><p style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0in;\">This senior role combines hands‑on software engineering with leadership in integrating AI‑assisted tools into enterprise development workflows. In addition to serving as a technical anchor, this position helps define and scale the use of AI across the development lifecycle, including prompt engineering, guardrails, and human‑in‑the‑loop validation, to ensure responsible and effective adoption.</p><p style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0in;\">The ideal candidate is curious, methodical, and comfortable working in complex, high volume transactional systems, and will grow into a technical leadership and ownership role for major areas of the platform.</p><p style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0in;\">This is a newly created role reporting to the Director of Healthplan Administrative Systems. The position is part of a fifty-three-person department and will be one of fifteen direct reports, working alongside Developers, Engineers, Scrum Masters, and Managers.</p><p style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0in;\"><strong><u>Required Qualifications:</u></strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0in;\">Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.</li><li style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0in;\">Six (6) years of experience designing and developing enterprise software in a collaborative environment.</li><li style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0in;\">Strong background in backend systems and data intensive applications.</li><li style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0in;\">Experience working across multiple languages and platforms (e.g., IRIS/MUMPS/Caché, ObjectScript, Java, C/C++, C#, .NET, or similar).</li><li style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0in;\">Strong experience developing, maintaining, and supporting MUMPS/InterSystems IRIS or Caché–based systems in an enterprise environment.</li><li style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0in;\">Proven ability to work with legacy codebases, including refactoring, debugging, and performance optimization.</li><li style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0in;\">Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to improve developer productivity, code quality, or documentation.</li><li style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0in;\">Experience with relational and/or nonrelational database technologies.</li><li style=\"line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0in;\">Demonstrated desire and ability to grow into an application owner and subject matter expert.</li><li style=\"line-height: normal;
