Description

Compensation Salary Schedule Overview This role will ensure continuity of support for students eligible for the Harris Rosen Foundation or Travel and Leisure district initiatives by monitoring academic progress, advocating for students and families, and collaborating with school personnel. Responsibilities and Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution required. Master’s degree preferred (Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred). Valid Florida teaching certificate or have applied to obtain a Florida teaching certificate. Three (3) years of instructional coaching or working in a leadership capacity in K-12 education. Experience in Title 1 schools, case management, or student advocacy roles preferred. Demonstrated experience using related computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of SAP, Skyward and other OCPS platforms preferred. Experience leading and facilitating projects or initiatives across multiple schools, stakeholders, or teams. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of teaching and learning processes. Knowledge of organization and management theory and practice. Knowledge and commitment to shared decision-making and accountability for results. Knowledge and understanding on the distinction between line and staff position and functions in an organization as it relates to district educational support programs and services. Ability to work and communicate effectively with people. Ability to research and determine appropriate resources and academic goals. Ability to facilitate group processes, conflict resolution, planning and decision-making. Understands that quality teaching and learning is the essential processes to educational equity and long-term student success. REPORTS TO : Director - Student Services SUPERVISES: None MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT: Machines, tools, equipment, electronic devices, vehicles, etc., used in this position. Telephone, Computer, (Personal Computer and Mainframe), Automobile, Copier PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Describes physical conditions of this position.Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated as Light Work. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: Physical activities of this position. Percent of a typical day involved in each applicable activity is noted. Percentage 70 Sitting: Resting with the body supported by the buttocks or thighs.10 Standing: Assuming an upright position on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.10 Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.5 Bending: Lowering the body forward from the waist.5 Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.5 Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position through the use of the upper extremities and back muscles exerting up to 10 pounds of force.80 Finger Dexterity: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm.70 Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.90 Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. WORKING CONDITIONS: Conditions the worker will be subject to in this position.Indoors and Outdoors: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: * Manifests a professional code of ethics and values.* Responds to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous and empathetic manner representing OCPS in a positive light.* Models the routine, intentional and effective use of technology in daily work, including communications, organization and management tasks.* Monitors academic, behavioral, and attendance records of the Harris Rosen Foundation and Travel and Leisure students.* Monitors outcomes of data and work closely with the Harris Rosen Foundation, Travel and Leisure, and school leadership teams.* Coordinates and assists with bridging the educational gaps from early childhood through high school within the schools eligible under the Harris Rosen Foundation or Travel and Leisure MOUs.* Monitors students who are eligible for the Harris Rosen Foundation or Travel and Leisure scholarship program as they transition from preschool through high school.* Partners with school leadership at schools included within the Harris Rosen Foundation or Travel and Leisure MOUs to identify students in need of academic, resiliency, or basic needs and connect them with resources.* Ensures communication with families regarding scholarship opportunities.* Participates in student support meetings (IEPs, MTSS, etc.) as needed for eligible students for the Harris Rosen Foundation or Travel and Leisure initiatives as specified within the corresponding MOUs.* Communicates regularly with eligible families to share updates, provide guidance on navigating elementary and middle school transitions, and engages, empowers, and promotes their involvement in leadership and advocacy roles.* Works with the OCPS Research department to provide reports to the Harris Rosen Foundation and Travel and Leisure on academic progress (trends and opportunities) and program impact.* Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines and the district’s instructional initiatives.* Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to fixed assets.* Develop leadership in subordinates.* Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS.
