Each project is different, so this role is constantly challenged with new software configurations and applications. Once the software is developed and tested, our Software Engineers work closely with our Engineering team during the installation and may&nbsp;visit the customer site during the go-live phase to help debug and troubleshoot any issues that arise. The ideal candidate will not only be able to quickly learn from the software engineering team, but also be able to bring something new to the table.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Direct, coordinate and exercise functional authority for design, planning, organization, of new software tools, solutions and products. &nbsp;</li><li>Write code that is?accurate, precise, and?thoroughly self-checked.&nbsp;</li><li>Research alternative algorithms and solutions from those previously deployed by the company and strive to be a leader in new technology for the team and overall organization.&nbsp;</li><li>Develop desktop applications and services in C++ and C# for the Windows operating system (both server and workstation editions).&nbsp;</li><li>Research and implement new and existing application layer protocols (over TCP and UDP) in order to communicate to different programs, platforms, and hardware.&nbsp;</li><li>Write concurrent (multi-threaded) applications for multi-core processors.&nbsp;</li><li>Develop stored procedures for Microsoft SQL Server, and create reports using SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).&nbsp;</li><li>Develop web applications in HTML and JavaScript (both with and without a framework).&nbsp;</li><li>Provide project support to our controls engineers by training them in the use of our products and assisting them in tasks that are heavily software focused (database configuration, application scripting, miscellaneous programming, and overall testing).&nbsp;</li><li>Configure 3D emulations of material handling systems, such as baggage handling systems for airports.&nbsp;</li><li>Participate in occasional project design and planning meetings.&nbsp;</li><li>Perform code-reviews for your coworkers, contribute to the design and enforcement of software standards, and openly share your knowledge and expertise with the rest of the team.&nbsp;</li><li>Continually research additional languages, technologies, and applications to be a more well-rounded and valued member of the organization.&nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;<strong>WORK ENVIRONMENT:&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Combination of office and job site settings &nbsp;</li><li>Collaborative, engaging and success driven culture&nbsp;</li><li>Some travel required&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</strong> &nbsp;</p><p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Sitting for prolonged periods of time when in office&nbsp;</li><li>Standing and walking for prolonged periods of time when at a jobsite&nbsp;</li><li>Climbing may be required when working at a jobsite&nbsp;</li><li>Repetitive typing/data entry&nbsp;</li><li>Lifting up to 10 pounds &nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>WORK SCHEDULE:</strong> &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>This position offers a flexible work schedule.
