We are proud of our flexibility and eagerness to assist customers and co-workers.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Design Joists, Joist Girders and Steel Decking according to Steel Joist Institute and Steel Deck Institute standards</li>\n <li>Roof/floor designs for projects including Retail Buildings, Schools, Warehouses, etc.</li>\n <li>Design structural steel and connections to applicable codes and standards</li>\n <li>Provide engineering direction to detailing, design, sales and production departments</li>\n <li>Interpret contract documents and communicate with Architects/Engineers of Record/Fabricators on product design requirements</li>\n <li>Become conversant in AISC, AISI, SJI, and SDI codes and specs</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent for Civil P.E. qualification</li>\n <li>Minimum Civil E.I.T. certification with desire to become Civil P.E.</li>\n <li>Good verbal and written communication skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prior steel joist industry or structural steel design experience</li>\n <li>Civil P.E. certification</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em><strong>Steel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers. </strong></em></p>",
