Reports to : Chief Development Officer Department : Development Classification : Exempt, Full-Time Benefits: Full Museum Benefits Schedule: M-F, 9-5pm, Approx. 35 hours/week Salary Range: Commensurate with experience Mission : The Dallas Museum of Art is a space of wonder and discovery where art comes alive. The DMA will: Place art and our diverse communities at the center around which all activities radiate. Pursue excellence in collecting and programming, present works of art across cultures and time, and be a driving force in contemporary art. Strengthen our position as a prominent, innovative institution, expanding the meaning and possibilities of learning and creativity. Scope of the Position: The Development Associate is responsible for assisting in planning and implementing all aspects of the DMA’s fundraising efforts in close collaboration with the Chief Development Officer (CDO). The Associate manages the resources and activities of the CDO as well as serves as a liaison to the Development Leadership Team and Development staff. In addition to the CDO, the Associate works closely with the Director’s Office, other departments across the Museum as well as the Development Committee and volunteers to generate and sustain philanthropic support for the Museum. Duties and Responsibilities: Works closely with the Director’s Office to coordinate donor visits, communication, and follow-up. Coordinates meetings and materials related to Development Department activities. Works with the Development Leadership team to provide support. Serves as primary staff responsible for the administration of monthly reports and tracking of activities. Works with the Development Leadership team to provide donor prospect support for the department and the Office of the Director. Maintains and updates records within the database Raiser’s Edge following meetings with the CDO and Director. Generates in a timely manner status departmental expense reports as they are measured against the operational budget projections. Drafts correspondence, including letters, reports, and high-level presentations. Support the Development Committee and Sub-Committees to help cultivate and steward donors to reinforce the importance of their participation and the Museum’s gratitude for their investment and advocacy. Serves as a key liaison between internal departments and external stakeholders. Other duties as assigned, including occasional evening or weekend work, related to Museum events.
