Maintains a professional environment that supports delivery of high-quality patient and family centered care.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Job Responsibility</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>1.Manages and has 24/7 responsibility for the team members, operations and patient care activities of a patient care unit.<br/>2.Assists nursing leadership in setting strategic direction for key programs in alignment with organization mission, vision, and values and nursing strategic plan.<br/>3.Communicates, builds consensus, and guides team toward achieving department objectives.<br/>4.Promotes and maintains high quality patient and family centered care in a healing environment.<br/>5.Creates a professional work environment that fosters team member respect, engagement, accountability and optimal patient outcomes.<br/>6.Promotes appreciative inquiry and evidence-based, ethical and compassionate practice.<br/>7.Acquires and manages staffing for patient care unit. Collaborates with HR for requirements.<br/>8.Provides direction and guidance to patient care unit team members and supervisors.<br/>9.Facilitates performance reviews, promotions, pay and corrective actions.<br/>10.Serves as a role model for standards of professional practice (clinical, educational and leadership).<br/>11.Assists in career development planning for team members.<br/>12.Educates teams in new and existing department procedures and systems (information systems, fiscal responsibility, etc.).<br/>13.Manages patient care unit budget. Monitors expenditures and implements action plans when variances are present.<br/>14.Monitors performance metrics that support decision-making to achieve optimal performance levels.<br/>15.Ensures adherence to the established care delivery model, using knowledge of scope and standards of practice.<br/>16.Facilitates continual compliance for unit with the JC, CMS, New York State, DOH, Public Health Law, HIPPA regulations and System, hospital and department standards.<br/>17.Demonstrates current knowledge of clinical competencies for patient population of oversight in order to manage direct patient care.<br/>18.Maintains current knowledge of scope and standards of practice, healthcare legislation, and population health.<br/>19.Identifies and leads opportunities to make changes to improve operations across teams using evidence-based strategies and solutions.<br/>20.Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are considered essential functions of the job under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions.</p>\n<p>Job Qualification</p>\n<p></p>\n<p>Bachelors of Science Degree, required. Masters, preferred.
