Job Description GENERAL LABOR Department: Operations Reports To: Production Supervisor/Lead Pay Grade: FLSA Classification: Non-exempt Approved By: Terry Walker Revision Date: 8/15/2024 JOB PURPOSE: Perform duties to create, package or ship products with a safety-minded approach that supports production goals and standards. Perform all duties in the Production department based on business needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: • Prepare work center to run according to schedule and ensure production goals and standards are met • Provide support to machine operators and line leads to ensure workflow supports production goals and standards. • Move material within or to/from workstations to meet operational needs. • Successfully scan work orders and complete paperwork as On-the-Job (OTJ) training requires within a reasonable time frame. • Follow proper processes for performing inspections, ensuring accuracy, and allowing for continuous monitoring for defects. If defects are found, the product must be sent to be reworked. • Ensure any dust, dirt, excess glue, or other substances are removed from the product and prepared for shipment to the customer. • Assist with material handling to provide continuous production at each work center and meet operational needs. • Report problems to area lead or supervisor. • Make recommendations through specified means of communication that support a lean and efficient manufacturing environment. • Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout scheduled shift as well as perform cleaning duties at designated times to contribute to a safe environment. • Contribute to team effort by working as areas directed and performing other duties as assigned and needed. Other Responsibilities • Utilize various hand tools. • Practice and model proper safety rules and procedures. Wear proper PPE equipment as required for the area. • Report to and be ready to work at the scheduled start time. SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: None COMPETENCIES: • Work in a manner that contributes to a safe working environment. • Demonstrate strong verbal communication skills. • Manage time efficiently in a fast-paced work environment. • Work independently and at an appropriate pace to meet productivity goals. • Report on time to scheduled shifts on a consistent basis. • Use problem-solving skills to assess and resolve identified issues. • Support team goals through flexibility, adaptability, and agility to shift priorities. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: None Experience and/or Training: None Licenses/Certificates: None Technology/Equipment: None PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Some High School Education, preferably at 10th grade level Experience and/or Training: • Experience working in a manufacturing environment. • Experience in air handling equipment Licenses/Certificates: None Technology/Equipment: None PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS: Standing for the working hours of each shift, 10 plus hours daily. Walking in the Production department to different areas of work. Speaking, hearing, seeing. Listen and observe the environment for hazard prevention. Use hands for tools. Regularly lift 30-50 lbs. throughout shift. Team-lift as specified by leadership. Bend, twist, and turn regularly. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Indoor working environment, hot in Summer, temperature controlled in Winter. Moving machinery, i.e. forklifts, moveable carts, etc. Uneven ground where cart tracks are identified. Air quality may be dusty and potentially require additional PPE in certain areas. Sound level below 85 decibels except in areas specified as requiring hearing protection.
