In this role, you will focus on the following:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work with local customers and support their product designs with components from MaxLinear’s Data Center Connectivity division on the following products: high-speed PAM4 DSPs and Transimpedance Amplifies (TIAs), used in IMDD optical modules, Linear Receive Optics (LRO) modules, Active Electrical Cables (AECs), electrical retimers and similar products requiring high-speed SERDES interfaces</li>\n <li>Support MaxLinear DSP integration into customer products</li>\n <li>Address customer technical questions beyond software</li>\n <li>Write and support example microcontroller code to interface with MaxLinear DSP APIs</li>\n <li>Collaborate on GUI definition and/or development</li>\n <li>Develop conference and customer demonstrations of MaxLinear DSP capabilities</li>\n <li>Optimize SERDES and optical links through DSP signal processing block configuration</li>\n <li>Some travel around California and occasionally Asia</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Proficient in programming languages C, C++, and Python</li>\n <li>Knowledge of latest OIF’s Common Management Interface Specification (CMIS)</li>\n <li>Experience programming microcontrollers such as STMicroelectronics STM32 series</li>\n <li>Knowledge of I2C and SPI interfaces and developing drivers</li>\n <li>Experience with optimizing PAM4 signals for receiving and transmitting</li>\n <li>Experience with configuring and coding for RTOS, GUI development, and signal processing experience preferred</li>\n <li>Experience working with lab equipment such as BERTs, DCAs, and traffic analyzers preferred</li>\n <li>Knowledge of SERDES interfaces, signal processing blocks, and performance metrics preferred</li>\n <li>Knowledge of and writing control code for EML and MZ based modulators preferred</li>\n <li>BS in Electrical Engineering or related + 5 years of experience, or MS + 3 years of experience, or Ph.D.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Compensation and Benefits</h2>\n<p>MaxLinear has a Total Compensation philosophy which includes base salary and annual discretionary bonus eligibility and many positions also include stock-based compensation.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>MaxLinear's good faith estimate starting base salary range is:  $115,000 to $170,000 Annually</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We offer competitive benefits designed to support employee health, welfare, and retirement and some highlights are:  health care benefits, 401k savings plan, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and paid time off.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The actual starting base salary will be determined by the match to certain role-related criteria such as educational degree(s) or equivalent, relevant work experience, skillset needed for the role, and geographic location; this is not an all-inclusive list as some roles may require unique skills or experience.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to, and will not be discriminated against based on race, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status.</p>\n<h2>Company Overview</h2>\n<p>MaxLinear is a global, NASDAQ-traded company (MXL) where the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well.
