Assistant Childcare Teacher - Full Time and Part Time Opportunities Available Westwood, Ohio Job Summary The Assistant Teacher supports the healthy development and school readiness of young children by supervising and engaging them in daily activities and early learning experiences. This role partners with families and works alongside lead teachers to implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with early childhood assessments. Responsibilities include fostering social-emotional growth, maintaining a safe classroom environment, and ensuring compliance with licensing and quality standards. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma required; Associate degree in Early Education or CDA preferred. Experience working with children in a group setting preferred. Valid driver’s license preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications. Assessment & Documentation: Administer developmental assessments (e.g., DECA, Galileo) and maintain accurate records, including attendance. Environment Management: Maintain a safe, healthy, and age-appropriate classroom environment; uphold licensing and quality standards. Family Engagement: Communicate daily with parents to support child development and well-being. Collaboration: Work closely with lead teachers and team members; attend meetings and trainings. Professional Development: Participate in required trainings and implement feedback for continuous improvement. Work Environment Combination of classroom and office settings. Exposure to children with behavioral challenges and possible bodily fluids. Requires ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Physical demands: The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
