Description

Title: Hydrogen Production Product Manager Company: Heven AeroTech Location: Winchester, Virginia FLSA: Exempt About Our Company: At Heven AeroTech (Heven), we don’t just believe in the power of people—we build our success on it. As a recognized leader in hydrogen-powered drones, we’ve earned recognition for creating a workplace where innovation thrives, collaboration is second nature, and every employee feels valued. Our culture is anchored in trust and a shared commitment to excellence. We believe great teams are built on individuals who are humble, hungry, and smart —those who put team success first, take initiative to continuously improve, and demonstrate strong interpersonal awareness. At Heven, your voice matters, your ideas are heard, and your contributions make a tangible impact as you grow through hands-on experience and collaboration across the team. Role Summary: As a founding Hydrogen Production Product Manager, you will be responsible for creating and managing the full lifecycle of our hydrogen production systems, including system integration, production testing, in-field service, and recycling/reuse. This role requires a balance of technical depth, operational awareness, and strong interpersonal skills, with both inward- and outward-facing responsibilities. You will quantify and drive reductions in operational costs across the value chain while maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring delivery of high-quality, high-performance products. Success in this role requires a hungry, humble, and smart approach: the drive to continuously improve and scale systems efficiently, the humility to partner closely with engineering, operations, and customers, and the intelligence to make data-driven decisions that balance performance, cost, and reliability. Your work will directly shape how our systems integrate into defense, public safety, and commercial sectors—ensuring that Heven AeroTech remains the gold standard for rugged, high-performance autonomous systems. Essential Responsibilities: Provide program oversight for the end-to-end development of expeditionary hydrogen generators, ensuring all milestones are met from initial designs through to lab and field testing and mass production. Coordinate between electrochemical, mechanical, electrical and software engineering teams to optimize system efficiency, thermal management, and user interfaces for existing and new technologies. Identify and manage relationships with key vendors for hydrogen production, compression and storage. Oversee the transition from low-volume prototyping to scalable manufacturing. Identify risks early, develop mitigation plans, and drive innovation or automation to reduce exposure. Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, and internal teams, providing concise status reports and program reviews. Review program and contract expenses, reconcile with forecasts, and address unexpected costs. Develop financial tracking and resource allocation tools. Maintain accurate program documentation and history for lessons learned. Continuously evaluate practices using data-driven decision-making and lead program closure activities. Uphold industry and military standards, regulations, and safety guidelines. Qualifications & Experience: Required: A Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrochemical Engineering, or equivalent. 5+ years working with hydrogen electrochemical production systems. Understanding of system integration and electrochemical hydrogen production, and relevant hydrogen safety codes. Proficient with MS Office Suite and MS Project (or similar integrated scheduling tools). Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with technical and business stakeholders. Ability to travel between sites in Virginia and Washington State. Ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance. Must be a "U.S. Person" (citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual) per ITAR/EAR requirements. Preferred: Experience with hydrogen fuel cells. Experience with cryogenic hydrogen. Experience with military certification pathways. Experience building integrated program schedules. Experience with using artificial intelligence to monitor energy systems. Physical Requirements: Ability to work in both office and field environments, including laboratories, production facilities, and outdoor test sites. Ability to travel between sites and support field operations, including extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking. Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and materials up to 30 pounds, and up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance. Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, hearing protection, and other safety gear as required when working in production or hydrogen handling environments. Ability to work safely around industrial systems, including hydrogen production, compression, and storage equipment, in accordance with safety standards and protocols. Ability to operate in environments that may include moderate noise levels, moving mechanical parts, temperature variations, and outdoor weather conditions. Ability to visually inspect equipment, review technical data, and work with computer systems for extended periods (including close vision and screen use). Ability to access and navigate production areas, which may include climbing stairs, ladders, or platforms as needed. Ability to respond to on-site operational needs, including occasional extended hours or non-standard schedules during testing or critical program milestones. Benefits Overview: Heven AeroTech offers a competitive benefits package designed to support the health, financial security, and overall well-being of our employees and their families. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement plans, paid time off/sick, and additional protections such as critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident coverage, and short- and long-term disability. Equal Employment Opportunity Statement: Heven AeroTech is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic under applicable law.
